12. UP) The Idaho Vandals conquered the University of Montana football team by the score of 19 to 0 here today in a conference game, the winning team outplaying its opponents in line plunging and intercepting passes. Regarded as a team which knew the ins and outs of overhead onslaught, the Montana Grizzlies hedged for three periods before they sent out an aerial barrage, and then saw it smeared all over the field, with two passes in Vandal hands for touchdowns. Before that an effective backfield line shift that was reminiscent of the old school flying wedge pounded wide gaps through the Grizzlies' ponderous line, paving the way for the Vandals' first score, a touchdown by Wilkie, fullback. After an exchange of punts at the opening period during which Morrow of Montana outpunted Diehl of Idaho by 15 yards, the Vandals ctartivi an nff.tflrkle and center yards for a touchdown.

Peterson The "thundering herd" as represented by the Buffalo Bisons established their claim to recognition in the Wyoming Interscholastic football title fight Saturday by trampling the Casper Mustangs to the tune of 14 to 6. The Mustangs invaded the Buffalo range for the clash and found the Bisons a stronger aggregation than they anticipated. They resorted to no trickery in their attack but plunged and drove with consistent results. They were equally effective on defense. Second string men were in the Casper lineup when the Mustangs kicked off to Buffalo.

Babcock, backfield satellite of the Bisons, pprar.g the surprise of the day when he shook off tacklers and raced 90 vsrds down the sidelines for the first touchdown of the game. Bab-cock al50 had the advantage of excellent interference. The extra point was also scored. Casper again kicked off and the two elevens battled even for a while, but the Mustangs lack of experience to come to light when they met the tcugh opposition of the Bisons. They showed that they had clashed with weak teams on the local field the two previous Saturdays.

In the second period, Babcock carried the ball across the goal for the second time, the Bison plunging ahead by hard straight football. They made the extra point, bringing the "score up 14 to 0. In the first half Casper seemed unable to play and could not settle down to football business, but showed considerable improvement in the second half. They got together and started working.
