Mr, Palmer Seutor Mtllart'i Liabilities Will Reach $37,592.77, Partly Secured-- Assets Are $12,000. Francis M. Smoltz, proprietor of what was known as the Toby glove works, filed a schedule in bankruptcy this afternoon.

His liabilities arc $10,513.05 unsecured, and $18,007.66 secured, which, with taxes, make a total of $37,593.77. The secured claims include $5,000 due the First National' bank, $7,407.60 due the Tri-State Building and Loan, the real estate being worth the Hamilton National, the Farmers' bank of Canfield, $3,700. The total of assets is $12,000.20, less the $600 exemption. The failure is due, Mr. Smaltz says, to the abnormal rise of cotton yarns which were contracted for under the old price of cotton.

The raw material went up 33 per cent, and made the filling of the contracts unprofitable. The concern was sold to the Boss Glove company some months ago, and Mr. Smaltz is now manager for that company.
