"Monty" Lcgg III, 48, of South Glens Falls, died Saturday (March 19, 1994) unexpectedly at Glens Falls Hospital. Bom on Oct. 17. 1945, in Troy, he was the son of Thelma (James) Lcgg of Glens Falls and the late Montgomery T. CAMBRIDGE Dorothy M.

Mean, 66, died Friday (March 18, IW4) at Mury McClcllun lloi)iml. Horn on Oct. I. IV27, in New Haven, hIic was (he daughter of Thomas and Hazel (I humus) McMinn. Her husband, Floyd II.

Mcars, died before her. Legg Mear Lcgg jr. Mr. Legg owned and operated Lcgg's Auto Repair on Dix Avenue for 12 years before retiring in September of 1993. He also owned the South Glens Drag Strip for three vears and ran many high ngn the performance speed shops in Glens tails area.

Most recently, Mr. Legg was part owner of Chrissy's Corner Kitchen in Glens Falls. He was a member of the National Hot Rod Association for 30 years and was an avid car enthusiast, enjoying cruising and racing. Survivors besides his mother include his wife of over 20 years, Elizabeth Baker Kinney Elizabeth Baker Kinney, 70, of 1 16 Bay St. in Glens Falls, died Thursday (March 17, 1994) at Glens Falls Hospital.

Born on June 12, 1923, in Saranac Lake, she was the daughter of Louis Lawrence Baker and Rose Beatrice Lancto. Mrs. Kinney attended Tupper Lake public schools and worked in Tupper Lake at Oval Wood Dish in 1943. She then worked in Niagara Falls in a defense plant with two of her sisters. She met her first husband, Irvin Malay, in Niagara Falls.

He died in 1958. Mrs. Khiney married her second husbandf Perley Kinney in Tupper Lake. They made their home in Tupper Lake until his death in 1975. Since that time, she had lived with her brother in Glens Falls.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis Malay of Florida, Brian Malay of Meridan, Conn, and Warrensburg; tliree daughters, Vina Wa.shbum of South Glens Foils, Mrs. James (Delia) McGowan and Mrs. Dennis (Adina) Millington, both of Gansevoort; two stepdaughters, Dclores Hoyos of Miami, I la. and Mrs. Joseph (Debbie) Bennett of Ticondcroga; one brother, Bernard Russell Jr.

of Warrcnsburg; nine grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Monday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 114 Main Warrcnsburg, with the Rev. Lee II. Call, pastor of the Faith Baptist Church in Warrcnsburg, officiating.

Spring burial will be at North Culdwcll Cemetery in Lake George. Friends may from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Warrensburg Emergency Squad or the American Diabetes Association. Britton Survivors besides his wife of over 40 years include one daughter, Mrs.

James (Barbara) Mearns of Ogdensburg, N.J.; four sons, Glenn David Britton of Thurman, Michael S. Britton of Newport News, William P. Britton of Phoenix, Az. and Jeffrey J. Britton of Glens Falls; one sister, Joyce Galusha of Minerva; one brother.

Jack Britton of Glens Falls; two grandsons; two granddaughters; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 1 14 Main Warrensburg, with the Rev. Ashley Meade, his brother-in-law, officiating. Spring burial will be at the Wesleyan Cemetery in Garnet Lake.

Services will be conducted at 1 1 a.m. on Wednesday at the Alexander-Baker Funeral Home, 1 14 Main Warrensburg, with the Rev. Martin Furrow, pastor of the Brant Lake Wesleyan Church, officiating. Spring burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Lake George. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m.

Spigner was honored at Lasell Junior College upon her 60th class reunion. Mrs. Spigner was an avid bridge player, gourmet cook and bird watcher and attended many area auctions, where she was simply known as number 97. Survivors include one son, Charles D. Spigner of Gansevoort; four daughters, Earlene Woods of Poestenkill, Bonny Collins of Valley Falls, Elaine Spigner of Troy and Cynthia Richardson of Schaghticoke; two sisters, Mari Fisk of Valley Falls and Flora Hill of Cape Coral, 18 grandchildren; five greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Hutcmun, 56, of Warrcnsburg, died Sunday, (March 13, V94) at the Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River, following a short illness. Uorn on May 13, 1937, in Athol, he was the daughter of the late Bernard and Frances LaFountain Russell. Mrs. Datcman was a lifelong resident of the Warrcnsburg area and niamcd Albert C. Batcman on June 20.

1958. She had been a chambermaid with Fort William Henry Motel in Luke George. Mrs. Ilatcmun also worked at the Wcstmount Health Facility in Quccasbury for many years. For the last five years, Mrs.

Batcman wintered in Inglis, Fla, Besides her parents, one sister, Jacqueline Rock, also died before her. Survivors besides her husband include one son, Wayne Batcman of Gene F. JOHNSBURG Gene F. Britton, 61, of Crane Mountain Road, died Friday, (March 18, 1994) at Glens Falls Hospital following a long illness. Born on Oct.

31, 1932, in Pitcaurn, he was the son of the late Glenn and Hazel Noble Britton. Mr. Britton entered the U.S. Air Force in 1952 and shortly thereafter married Geraldine Meade Britton. During a 20-year career in the Air Force he served in Korea during the Korean conflict and in Thailand during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Britton's decorations included the National Defense Service Medal with the Bronze Star, the United Nations Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Korean Service Medal. He retired from the Air Force with the rank of Technical Sergeant in 1972, then worked for Fort Edward Express as the terminal manager for 1 4 years, retiring in 1 986. Gladys A. LAKE GEORGE Gladys A.

Russell, 86, formerly of Lake George, died Saturday, (March 19, 1994) at the Westmount Health Facility in Quecnsbury after a short illness. Born on Nov. 25, 1907, in Warrensburg, she was the daughter of Albert and Vina Morehouse Vernum. Her husband of 53 years, John M. Russell, died in 1976.

Mrs. Russell had resided in Brant Lake following the death of her husband. Her hobbies included hunting, fishing and camping. Besides her husband, one son, John W. Russell died in 1942; and one daughter, Ernestine Russell died in 1958.

Survivors include two sons, Albert J. Russell of East Bangor, Maine and Wyman L. Russell of Bolton Henry Scott TRENTON, Fla. Henry Scott "Hank" Russell, 78 formerly of Warrensburg, N.Y., died Friday (March 18, 1994) at Medic Ayres Nursing Home in Trenton. Born on Aug.

25, 1915, in Diamond Point, N.Y., he was the son of Scott Russell and Delia Batcman and had lived in the Warrensburg area for most of his life before moving to Trenton a few years ago. Mr. Russell worked at the Coming Glass Co. in New York City and also as superintendent at the Twin Towers in Albany. He served in the United States Navy.

Mr. Russell enjoyed golf and was an avid bowler. His wife, Jeanette Russell, died in 1979. Also one sister, Helen Fisher, died in 1961 and one son, John Henry Russell died in 1938. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs.

Earl G. (Jane) Fuller of Warrensburg and Mrs. Michael (Rose) Ross of Chestertown, N.Y.; one son, David Scott Russell of Albany; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Richard (Lorraine) Potter of Strevens, Ga. and Mrs.

Root, 100, a former resident of Terrace died Saturday (March 19. 1994) at Mnplewood Manor in Ballston Spa alter a short illness. Uorn on March 29, 1893, in Utica, she was the daughter of Daniel and Anna (Kinney) Carey.

Her husband, George Root and two brothers, William Carey and Edward Carey, all died before her. Mrs. Root would have celebrated her 101st birthday on March 29, 1994. She was employed for 50 years as a salesperson for Merkel Gelman Department Store of Glens Falls. Mrs.

Root enjoyed caring for her home. Survivors include one daughter, Dorothy Shea of South Glens Falls; one granddaughter, Kathleen Bertha E. GREENWICH Bertha E. Keenan, 93, a former Bleeker Street resident, died Friday (March 18, 1994) at the Weston Hadden Convalescent Center in Bennington alter a long illness. Born on June 7, 1900, in Cossayuna, she was the daughter of James and Anna (Connor) McMahon and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Keenan was a graduate of the Washington Academy in Salem, Class of 1918 and of the Albany Business College, Class of 1919. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Greenwich and a member of the Sacred Heart Sodality of the church. Her husband, Charles Keenan, Morris Inman ARGYLE Morris Inman Pendergrass, 76, of RD1, died Saturday (March 19, 1994) at his home.

Born on June 29, 1917, in Argyle, he was the son of Joseph and Mabel (Inman) Pendergrass. Mr. Pendergrass was a retired fanner in Argyle for many years. He was a member of the Argyle United Presbyterian Church. Mr.

Pendergrass was also a longtime member of the Argyle Bowling League and an avid sports fan. Three sisters, Louise Fleeman, Kathryn McDougall and Mabel Bain; and two brothers, Arthur Pendergrass and Coleman Pendergrass, all died before him. Mary's Hospital in Troy following a long illness. Born in Valley Falls, she was the daughter of Dr. Charles and Flora (Thompson) Sproat and the wife of the former Mayor of Valley Falls, the late Ernest R. Spigner. Mrs.

Spigner attended Valley Falls Schools, Lansingburgh High School and was a graduate from Lasell Junior College in Auburndale, Class of 1932. She had been employed as a dietician at St. Mary's Hospital in Troy for fifteen years until her retirement in 1976. Mrs. Spigner was a member and treasurer of the Women's Club of Valley Falls, the Valley Falls Methodist Church, the Illium Literary Club, the Tuesday Club of Troy, the former Troy Club, the Monday Craft Club of Melrose, the Hoosic Valley Senior Citizens Club, the St.

Mary's Auxiliary of Troy, the St. Mary's Retiree's Club, the Cambridge Farms and Gardens Club, the Rensselaer County Historical Society, the Thornton Burgess Society, several area bridge clubs and was a former member of the Valley Falls Library Board and an election inspector.
