Post-Star, Glen Fa) is, N.Y. Tuesday. June 27. 1888 on Jovi must find own image Shoreline From Page Bl By Mike Gurtin hntsic Critic Review Krogmann said that in checking the records in the State Archives, it was determined the town border only extendi to the high water mark on Schroon Lake. But on Schroon Lake there is considerable difference between the high water mark and the level of the lake other times of the year.

Much activity takes place below the high water mark by landowners during the summer, when the level of the lake is lower. Parts of the beaches on the east shore of Schroon Lake are actually the property of the town of Chester and not of the owner of the property in Horicon. Laura Viscomb of the Adirondack Park Agency said: "All our rulings are done on the high water mark." That mark, according to APA regulations, is defined as follows: "Mean high water is the average annual high water level." As the town of Chester extends to that high water mark, the town of Horicon would have to consult not only with the APA but also with the town of Chester before any development could be done that affects or crosses the high water mark. Schroon Lake within its boundaries. Jay Winford of the Division of Real Property for Warren County said the attorneys are right The Town of Horicon actually has no lake; they only have a shoreline." The town of Horicon begins above the high water mark.

Winford said that means, "If anybody in Horicon builds a dock into the lake, then they are in the Town of Chester." Asked if Chester could assess such property1, Winford said that is up to the town. If it is a large boathouse, Chester may decide to assess it, he said. Meanwhile, the town of Horicon was researching the lake ownership for two other reasons. Horicon Town Attorney David Krogmann said the question of the boundaries of the town came up when the town was considering an amendment to the docks and marinas ordinance. It also was raised in relation to the upcoming census, which calls for a confirmation of the boundaries of the town.

Medicine" is Bon Jovi's finest song to date. It points the way for the band towards a more dynamic, and less derivative, future. For a mammoth outdoor event, the sound quality was exceptional. Both song and speech was razor sharp, even a quarter mile away from the stage. The much-touted video screens were of little use from that distance, but were a godsend for those closer, but not stage-front Opening for Bon Jovi was Skid Road, by now a -permanent addition to the band's traveling entourage.

Also on hand was Bad Company, one of the premier supergroups of the 70s. Originally comprised of members of second generation British bands, Free and Mott the Hoople, Bad Company enjoyed its finest hour before much of the Bon Jovi audience was even bom. Songs like "Can't Get Enough," "Ready For Love," and "Feel Like Making Love" remain staples for "classic" FM rock stations. The band was without original lead singer, Paul Rogers. His replacement, Brian Howe, who was formerly with Ted Nugent, possessed enough lung power and stage presence to warrant an encore from the pro-Jovi throng.

Jon Bon Jovi himself wore a Bad Company t-shirt onstage Sunday evening. Bad Company's presence was both fitting, yet also foreboding. The headlines paid tribute to the music that inspired them. But will Bon Jovi be the old fogie tag-alongs for some hot-shot rock group in the 1990s? I doubt it Their audience is young very young, and should grow with the band that is, if Bon Jovi can fashion its own identity and quit chasing the dust of New Jersey's most famous rock icon. SARATOGA SPRINGS Bon Jovi, a band njaEgned by critics, but adored by untold millions, drew one of the largest crowds ever for an area rock show, Sunday at Saratoga Raceway.

The estimated 25,000 in attendance did not match tie that jammed the Saratoga Performing Arts Center for The Who in the early '70s, and for the Grateful Dead in 1988. But for Bon Jovi's youthful following, that's aicient history. The present and future of rock and njll was on hand Sunday, Eve and larger than life. Tjiat the group's reach exceeded its grasp was an opinion shared by this writer, and few others. ever had the staid grounds of Saratoga Raceway, tJfe poorer relation of the two local race tracks, conducted such an event.

Unlike the smaller confines of SPAC, the Raceway was well equipped ttf handle a crowd of this magnitude, a fact that wpn't be forgotton among future concert bookers and.superstar bands. JThe stage was set up in the far turn of the race track, a good 250 to 300 yards from the grandstand. Occupying every inch of the north half of the infield aad generously scattered throughout the rest of the gftunds were fans, fans, and more fans. was a young crowd. Many were under 10 years ifcage, and with their parents in tow.

But from the capping and stamping of some of the adults, these mommies and daddies were enjoying the role as long-suffering parents to the hilt. Lead singer Jon Bon Jovi dedicated, "Born To Be My Baby," the second hit single from the band's most recent album "New Jersey," to another long- suffering crew the tireless young men who kept their girlfriends aloft on their shoulders for hours. Jon Bon Jovi might not be "the Boss" but he makes a far better Bruce Springsteen than most of the "Born To Run" clones, like John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown band. Songs like "Born To Be My Baby," and "Blood On Blood," churn with the same restless energy of Springsteen's best work. The linchpin of Bon Jovf expansive sound is Tico Torres.

Wearing a vest emblazoned with his nickname, The Hit Man," Torres' assault on his drum kit propelled the band through hit after hit, during its 90-minute set The sixth member of Bon Jovi was the crowd. They knew the words to every song. They punctuated Jon Bon Jovi's stage movements with squeals of delight During the torch song, "I'll Be There For You," the audience did some "torching" of their own, creating an ocean of fire with lighters and matches that was breathtaking to behold. But for all of Bon Jovi's instrumental skills, and crowd pleasing manner, the concert was still an exercise in "Bossamania." Jon Bon Jovi's earnest and heartfelt stage patter was even cut from the mold of Springsteen. Still, if his message of keeping one's dreams alive, was taken to heart by even a fraction of Sunday's crowd, the show was a success.

After an interminable version of "Dead And Alive," the fans who stayed for the encores were rewarded by the band at it's best. With a tight structure, crisp harmonizing, and an infectious chorus that most groups would kill for, "Bad Aliens Crantlall to show 'Gloria' tonight Lottery New York City. They also said a night stick was found inside the truck. The roadblock in Corinth had been set up to search cars and to warn drivers about Gordon, an escaped inmate from the nearby Mt. McGregor Correctional Facility.

Most of the mountaintop state prison lies in Moreau. Gordon was captured Sunday, three days after his escape, when officers converged on an empty mobile home in Wilton, near Exit 16 of the Adirondack Northway.
