With more than half of the votes tallied, Ryan appeared certain of a seventh term in the state Assembly. Unofficial totals showed 31,000 votes for Ryan and 10,000 for Hatch.

The 111th District includes the counties of Clinton and Essex along with the Warren County towns of Warrensburg, Johnsburg, Chester, Hague, Thurman, Bolton, Stony Creek and Horicon. "I want to thank all the people who worked on my behalf," Ryan said. "I will do the best I can in Albany." D'Andrea SARATOGA SPRINGS Republican Assemblyman Robert D'Andrea defeated his Democrat challenger by a 3-1 margin, unofficial returns indicated Tuesday. Defeating John Deignan of Clifton Park, D'Andrea won his fourth term in the Legislature and was brimming with enthusiasm when he greeted supporters Tuesday, night in Saratoga Springs. "I think it's a wonderful thing that we're having a Republican landslide," he commented to a reporter.

D'Andrea polled 32,783 votes unofficially countywide to Deignan's 10,367.
