READY FOR THE WAYNE TRACE PENNSYLVANIA READY TO COM- MENCE ON ELEVATION WORK. Company Asks Commissioners to Have Surveyor Join Company's Men In the Preliminaries.

The Pennsylvania company is ready to begin work on the elevation and subway at Wayne trace, and has so informed the county commissioners in a letter received by that body today. The letter asks that the commissioners ha 'e the county surveyor join the company's men in surveying the land at the. site of the elevation before the company makes the purchase of several small tracts of land that will be tiecc'ssary to the company. Just when the work will be commenced is not certain, but it will be some time this summer, say the commissioners. The work was to have fceun begun ry January 1, 1915, but unforeseen obstacles prevented the commencing of the work.

It is likely that January 1, 1916, will see the subway so far completed that vehicles can pass through. The residents in the southeastern of the county have long desired the subway and the commissioners and the. Pennsylvania easily agreed to the majp. of the work. The surveyor will get on the lob at once.

NIX The Adams Township Residents Say They Want Tar. A hundred and two residents of Adams township, headed by E. H. Pruesse and Christ Schlaudroff, have signed petition to the county commissioners asking to have a former petition of theirs set aside and the present one considered. The former petition asked that the Wayne Trace be concreted from the Pennsylvania tracks through the township.

Now the petition says the residents want an eighteen-foot stone road, 'tar bound, from the Pennsylvania to Pruesse's corner, and a sixteen-foot tar-bound roadway to the township line. All of the thirteen deputy road superintendents have within the past few days reported to County Road Superintendent Tonkel that the roads under their jurisdiction are in excellent shape for this time of the year. None of the roads was injured by the frost, the gravel, stone anrt concrete roads standing the winter especially well. WANTS DIVORCE. Mrs. Harvls Boals Says Husband Kept Bad Company.

Charging her husband with boasting of his conduct with women of bad repute, May E. Boals has begun proceedings for a divorce against Ilarvle A. Boals. The couple were married in 1909 and separated on March 13, 1D15. A.

Elmer Wagner was today sent over to the county jail to loaf out a $1 and costs line put upon him for provoke by Justice of the Peace Grabnor. Alice Matthews wants a divorce from Jackson Matthews, after having been married to him since 1880. The couple separated March 2, 1915. she says, because her husband has failed to make proper provision for her. The plaintiff asks an order restraining her husband from visiting ox molesting her and from drawing his wages or disposing of his property. F.

A Rate Question. CHICAGO, March question of railroads paying the cost of delivering shipments from railroad freight terminals to warehouses of the consignees was argued today before the Illinois public utilities commission. The protest of the Illinois Tunnel company, the Illinois Warehouse Terminal company and the Chicago Association of Commerce against the cost of terminal service charges levied against shippers by the railroads brought the matter before the commission. No evidence was taken, but a transcript of testimony before the interstate commerce commission last month was filed. Grain Adulterated.

CHICAGO, March K. Den- n'is, United States district attorney at Baltimore, arrived here today and began a hearing in the matter of twenty-eight cars of oats shipped'from Chicago by the Armour Grain company. The oats were consigned to the grain company itself, presumably for export to the European war stone. The cars were seized by government agents on the ground that, although the shipment wast listed as oats, it contained from Fi 1 to 19 per cent, barley, with iiis arrival, it was said at the Chicago federal building, several cases of alleged adulteration of grain shipments to the war zone were being investigated. Snow at Atlanta, ATLANTA, March a temperature around 30 degrees above zero this morning, light suow again covered north Georgia, accompanied by a high wind.
