SCHUYLERVILLE -The school board approved a $2,520 contract with Northeast Association of the Blind for one 8-year old child to provide two hours of. instruction per week. The budget was increased by $1,028 to provide salary and benefits to Paul Maratto as counselor under the Job Training Partnership Act (formerly called CETA).

The board approved the probationary appointment of Lois Miner as part-time typist, and the permanent appointment of Cathy Thomas as stenographer. Provisional appointment was given to Donita Martindale as health office assistant, replacing Marie Boivin whose retirement becomes effective Nov. 11. Tenure will be bestowed on Deborah Insalaco, speech and language, teacher, effective Dec. 1.

Two students were classified as mentally retarded and learning disabled and placed in appropriate classes. Area residents will be urged to voice their concerns and express their opinions in regard to the goals and expectations for the district.
