have meeting DIAMOND (Special) The Cadette Girl Scouts of Troop 228 held their Christmas party Monday in the cafeteria at the Diamond R-4 School. The party was held from 3:304:30 p.m. with the Girl Scouts having a Christmas gift exchange. They joined together in singing grace, and also saying their scout promise. Refreshments of cupcakes and Kool-Aid were enjoyed by the group.

Beat the eggs lightly and beat in the cream.

Have plenty of rolled crackers on a piece of foil or wax paper. Dip the oysters in the egg mixture and then in the cracker crumbs. Let them stand several minutes on a piece of foil or wax paper. Fry them (do not crowd them in the skillet) just long enough to brown nicely and heat through. Salt and pepper them as you cook.

Serve on hot plates with lemon wedges or tartar sauce. Six to 12 oysters is a portion, depending upon the appetite. (Now that oysters are making a comeback, this fine dish from James Beard's "American Cookery," published by Little Brown, is well worth trying.)
