Editor: I observe that the results of the Census in several of the Wards have been published, and presume therefore that it is nearly completed throughout the City. Iu common with almost every person with whom 1 have communicated on the subject, I am convinced great omissions have occurred. Within the last twenty-four hours, I have conversed with gentlemen (all heads of families) residing in Jive different wards, whose houses had not been visited by the Marshal's deputies; and at my own residence, containing a family of twelve persons, uo call has yet been made. Very material omissions will also occur from the largo number of houses that are, as usual, closed at this season, from the temporary absence of our citizens; and I cannot learn that the deputies take any pains to ascertain from the neighbors whether such houses are inhabited or not. It may bo said, that any family who have been omitted can correct the error by making their return at the Marshal's office; but few will have the inclination to do so, and still fewer will take tho trouble.

As a citizen of Philadelphia, I feel anxious that our full number should be returned, not only as a subject of honest and proper prido to shew tho enerease and prosperity of my native city, but also in a political point of view, as negligence may and probably will lose us a Representative in Congress for the next ten years, and also a vote at the two Presidential elections that will occur previous to another census.
