Tho approach from the street was through a grove of sycamore trees, the Rround covered with and aud chairs placed about, where on warm evenings beer is dispensed to thirsty patrons. The hall is a theater- like structure with a small stage at one end, where the song aud dance artists are wont to enliven dull iionre. The rush to hear the speaker was tremendous. Excitement an the In New York--Rise-lit Price KE'W YORK, May greatest seen in grain circles in a number of years was witnessed on the produce exchange yesterday. Wheat naturally cauie in for the lion's share of the activity transactions, amounting to 33,000,000 bushels; but corn and oats also had a fair trade.

Fluctuations were violent at -times, the range on prices being unusually large. The activity was a continuation of the excit-e- ineiit on the curb Saturday when July rose from to in half an hour. Yesterday it beat the latter price by pearly a cents, touching 77 8-8 during the afternoon, and making a total rises of almost 4 cents per bushel in two days. The public has now carried wheat up 15 and 20 cents a bushel and seem to be just as much in the ring as ever. Freezing weather west and talk of widespread damage has been of great assistance to the bulls.

Another very important factor was the heavy decrease of 3,000,000 bushels in the visible supply. A few minutes before the close a batch of'selling orders came suddenly upon the market and knocked cents-off tho price before the bulls know what had happened, and the market left off in a whirl of excitement. Corn and oats also advanced, thn former and cents, and oats about 1 cent a bushel. TELEGRAPH TICKS. The second annual meeting of the Worn fin's congress met in San Francisco yesterday.
