(Penna-Sas photo) Service Program Outlined By Junior Welfare League Holland Junior Welfare League members began another exciting year Tuesday evening at the Woman's Literary Clubhouse.

Plans for a year of service and raising funds for projects were outlined. Mrs. Thomas Carey, president, welcomed League work ers and presided at the business session. She announced the standing committees for the 196647 year. Mrs.

Peter Yff, membership chairman, assisted by George Moeke, Mrs. Ray Backus, Mrs. Larry Den Uyl, and Mrs. Phillip Ragains will plan and serve the New Girl's dinner on Oct. 25.

Mrs. Thomas Williams, service chairman, reported on initial plans for giving service. The special education groups, a longtime favorite project with the League, will receive more hours of help this year. Special education chairmen include Mrs. George Becker, Senior High; Mrs.

Delwyn Van Dyke, Junior High; Mrs. William Buis, elementary; and Mrs. Fred Leaske, Ventura School. Mrs. Bruce Van Dyke and Mrs.

Donald Kuiper announced plans for a touring puppet show this fall and another at the library in February. A new project this year will be the Day Care Center under the leadership of Mrs. Thomas Buis. Mrs. Robert Wieren will receive the requests from the needy for eye examinations and glasses.

Other standing committee chairmen who reported were Mrs. James Ver Plank, coffee; Area Churchmen Attend Annual Dinner Meeting Mrs. and Mrs. Carleton Hutch- Ins Mr. and Mrs.

Hohl of All Saints' Church, Saugatuck, attended the annual Church-Man's Association dinner of the Diocese of Western Michigan Tuesday evening at St. Gregory's Church, Muskegon. Speaker was the Rt. Rev. Clarence E.

Crowther, Bishop of the sister diocese of Kimberley and Kuruman, South Africa. Also attending the dinner meeting from Grace Church, Holland, were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Kingsley, Mr. and Mrs.

Peter Botsis and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Veltman. Jilaine De Frell Feted On Her Ninth Birthday Jilaine De Frell was honored on her ninth birthday Saturday afternoon at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs.

Jack De Frell of 4293 60th St. The afternoon was spent in playing agmes and horseback riding. Prizes went to Cindy Petroelje, Jane Tucker and Mary De Frell. Other guests included Cindy Busscher, Gail Genzink, Kathy Gritter, Pam Albers, La Nell Aalderink, Mary Alberta, Lori Eller, Darcell Hossink, Beverly Breuker, Pam Roels, Nancy Zylman, Evelyn Jacobs, Jackie Dyke and Judy Vander Leek. Unable to attend were Kathy Kalkman and Mary Lokker.

De Free. Mrs. Robert Bernecker, vice president, announced the projects and tiieir chairman. Already at work in the directing of selling fruitcakes to businesses and local persons are Mrs. James Pollock and Mrs.

Bosch. Mrs. Robert Evans and Mrs. Daniel Herrinton, co-chairmen of the annual charity ball, outlined plans for the highlight of Holland's holiday season. Mrs.

Charles Bradford will assist on this big project. A special event in February will be a gigantic Book Fair staged under the direction of Mrs. Hollis Clark, Mrs. David Linn and Mrs. John Tysse.

A special husband's night in March is being planned by Mrs. Roger DoolitUe and Mrs. Ronald Appledorn. The ever popular Eet Smake- lijk cookbook sales are being handled by Mrs. Earl Welling and Mrs.

George Daily. Mrs. John Van Dam is in charge of publicity. Arrangements for the final dinner in April will be made by Mrs. Dale Grissen and Willard Penna.

Child Has Party On Sixth Birthday Renee Farkas celebrated her sixth birthday anniversary Mon. day with a party given in her home at 651 Steketee Ave. by her mother. A lunch was served and decorations followed the gaucho theme. Games were played with prizes awarded to Sheryl Holmes and Jackie Dykstra.

Favors were given to each guest. Present were Cheryl Ruiz, Sheryl Holmes, Jackie Dykstra, Lisa Gasper, Annette Farkas and the guest of honor. Arnold Datemas Feted At Anniversary Dinner Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Datema, 214 East 12th celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary on Saturday.

They were honored at a dinner given at Gull Harbor Inn. Attending were Mr, and Mrs. Arnold J. Datema, Miss Kathleen Datema, Mrs. Jerry Coffman and the honored couple.

27-Year-Old Otsego Man Killed in Accident, KALAMAZOO (UPI) Dale Stratton, 27, Otsego, was killed today when his car went out of control on a city expressway. A passenger, Patricia Zay, 27, also of Otsego, was hospitalized in fair condition.
