Pastor Dixon announced that he will begin a systematic study of Paul's letter to the Phillippians and that study materials would be available for those desiring to make use of them. John's plans fall activities Charles Workman, organist at St. John's United Church of Christ, Schuylkill Haven, announced that choir rehearsals for the senior choir have begun and there are openings in all sections for new members. Rehearsals are held in the sanctuary each Sunday evening at 7. Services on Sunday will be held at 8 the church school meets at 9. The second worship service will be held at 10:30.

The soloist at the 10:30 service will be Mrs. James Williams. Kuntz will bring a message entitled "This Message Could Save Your Sit in the privacy of your own car or bring a lawn chair and enjoy the service in the beauty of God's great outdoors. Sterner, 81, RD1 New Ringgold, died Monday evening in the Coaldale Hospital following an accident on Route 309, south of Tamaqua earlier in the day. Sterner suffered multiple body and facial injuries in the accident between his truck and a car.

Born in West Penn he was the son of the late Frank and Susanna Turner Sterner. His wife, the former Jennie Hoppes Reeser, died in 1960. A veteran of World War he served with the 28th division of the Army. He had been a farmer prior to retiring 1 in 1960. He was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Zions Union Church, RD2 New Ringgold; American Legion Post 173, Tamaqua; Andreas Fire Co.

No. 1 and Mahoning Fire Co. Surviving are two daughters, Idella, wife of Harry Deter, Dorothy, wife of Ira Fritz, RD1 New Ringgold; two sons, Paul of RD1 New Ringgold and Calvin, of RD2 New Ringgold; one stepdaughter, Perma Reeser, Auburn; a stepson, Charles Reeser, Allentown; 24 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; one sister, Mrs. Celesta Arner, RD3 Tamaqua. Williams officiating. Burial was made in Schuylkill Memorial Park. MRS. ANNA BURIN Services were held today from the Geschwindt Funeral Home for Mrs. Anna Burin, 85, 601 Schuylkill who died Monday at 4:45 p.m.

at the home of her son-inlaw and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Pillar with whom she resided. A former resident of New Philadelphia, she was born in Austria. She was the daughter of the late Stanley and Julia Manzick.

She was a member of St. Mary of Assumption Byzantine Catholic Church, St. Clair. Her husband, Michael, died in 1935. Surviving are seven children: Anna, wife of John Lozskie, Baltimore; Julia, wife of Leo Zokites, Port Charlotte, Michael, Baltimore; Mary Drahuschak, Philadelphia; John, Philadelphia; Helen, wife of Anthony Pillar, Schuylkill Haven; Joseph, Maple Shade, N.J.: 22 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren.

Mass was celebrated in St. Mary Church with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Philadelphia. WILLIAM F. STICHER William F. Sticher of 117 Railroad Cressona, died on August 26 in his home, after an illness of several years.

He was 84 years of age. A son of the late Jacob and Sarah Zechman Sticher, Mr. Sticher was a lifelong resident of Cressona. He was employed by the Reading Railroad for 5 50 years prior to his retirement 15 years ago. He was a member of St.

Mark's United Church of Christ, the American Legion, Cressona; and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. He served with the US Army in World War I. His wife, the former Doris V. Seidel, died in 1974. Survivors include three sons: Carl, of Laurel, Reynold, Friedensburg; Jay, RD2 Pine Grove; two daughters: Shirley, wife of Donald Schaeffer, Yardley, and Jean, wife of John March, Cressona; five grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Mrs.

RICHARD M. BROGAN Richard M. Brogan, 43, of 11 Rudy Cressona, died at his home last Thursday after being taken unexpectedly ill. Born in Allentown, he was the son of Mrs. Anna Mulzet Brogan, Allentown, and the late William Brogan.

He was an Army veteran of the Korean conflict and was employed as a dental technician at Pottsville Medical Laboratories. Surviving in addition to his mother, are his widow, Pearl; four sons, Richard, Patrick, Michael and Timothy, all of Slatington; two sisters, Jean, wife of Francis Jacobs, and Donna, wife of Robert Schankowitz, both of Allentown; one brother, William of Allentown. Services were held Monday in Allentown with mass of Christian burial in Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. Burial was made in the parish cemetery. MRS.

ANASTAZIA BAZAR Mrs. Anastazia Bazar, 20 Schuylkill Cressona, died yesterday at 8:30 a.m. at her home. A native of Austria, she was born Sept. 14, 1895, daughter of the late Luther and Pearl Kawankia Hakan.

She resided in the Cressona area most of her life and was a member of St. Nicholas Uranian Catholic Church, Minersville. Her husband, Alexander, died in 1961. Surviving are four sons, Wesley and Stephen, at home; Joesph, Carlisle; Leo, Camp Hill; four daughters, Pearl, Queens, N. Mary, Manhatten, N.Y.; Anna and Bessie, at home; one brother, John, Turmtol, Russia; three sisters, Anna of Austria; Anna and Mary, of France; three grandchildren.
