Anna Golden Commits Sulclda by Hanging this Morning. Mrs. Anna Golden, aged forty-twe, living at 397 Virginia avenue, committed suicide by hanging this morning about 7 o'clock. A year ago, and within a month of each other she lost her husband and a daughter. Her sorrow has been preying upon her mind ever since, despite the efforts of her children and relations to cheer her.

Her husband was Dennis Golden, a blacksmith. This morning she prepared breakfast for her son, Dennis E. Golden, employed at the Atlas works. He left her about half-past six oJclock. There being no o.ne in the house, she then ent into a summer kitchen, and, standing upon 'a table in the corner, fastened a piece ol clothes-line to a rafter, and, having tied the other end about her neck, steppes off.

irhe was discovered shortly after by the children of Mrs. Ilosenbaum, her sister, who crme to the house on an errand. She was immediately cut down and an effort was made resuscitate her, but life was extinct. Besides her son, she leaves a daughter, Nora, aged 12. Mrs.

Golden has fluently intimated her intention to commit suicide, but her family and friends thought she would ultimately recover her spirits. Last night her son made a special effort to distract Ler ni.ind, but it appears without success. Mrs. (iolden owned the house in which 6he lived, and she was in comfortable circumstances. She has two brothers, William and John Lawler, and two sisters, Mrs.

Kiiza Farrel and Mrs. Uosenbauiu, living in the-city, one brother, James Farrel, living in Mexico, and another in Australia. Indiana's Latest Recognition. It is as certain as such things can be thai I). 8.

Alexander, of the law firm of Alexander fc Herr, of this city, will be appointed fifth auditor of the treasury. Mr. Alexander served through the war as a private, entering the service when only fifteen years old.

He stated to a News reporter to-day that all he knew of the probability of his appointment was the information he found in the newspapers. His chief desire in leaving Indianapolis temporarily, is to beu. efit the health of his wife. The duties of the fifth auditor consist ol the auditing of the accounts of the state department, commissioner of internal revenue and the contingent expenses of the patent office And census bureau. There are s.x auditors altogether, connected with the treasury department who hold the same relative rank, but are simply numerically distinguished.

A Matrimonial Benefit Company. Articles of association of the Indiana Mutual Marriage Benefit association, of Dunkirk, Jay county, were filed to-day. Trustees, Wm. G. Sutton, James H.

Shrack, IviS. Burkett, Wm. Manning and John Ifaitford. The object of this association is the mutual protection and benefit of its members. "Its business shall consist in collecting moneys from members and in the payment of a stipulated sum of money to members who may lawfully marry, and the expenses of said business.

Any unmarried person, male or female, of god moral character, may become a member." A LADIES MAMA.
