Freshman quarterback Chad Pennington threw two touchdown passes as the Thundering Herd swept past Furman for a 31-6 win Saturday afternoon. 19 ATLANTA Sophomore tailback C.J. Williams scored four touchdowns, three in the fourth period, and Georgia Tech kept alive its bowl hopes Saturday with a come-from-behind 27-19 victory over North Carolina State. Trailing 19-6, Williams, who ran for 143 yards on 23 carries, scored on a 5-yard run 3:36 into the fourth quarter. He then raced for an 8-yard score only 1:20 later as Tech capitalized on a Wolfpack fumble by Tremayne Stephens to take a 20-19 lead. Williams had 111 yards on 15 carries in the final quarter.

He has 1,071 rushing yards on the season, making him the fourth player in Yellow Jackets history to go over the rushing mark. The others were Eddie Lee Ivery (1978), Jerry Mays (1987) and Robert Lavette (1982-' 84).
