4 i Meyers's Men Register Goal in First Period, When Herb Davis Recovers Ball Across Line "Bo" McMillan Leads Danville Team. Catre College. "Praytnr Colonels" of Kentucky, invaded Cincinnati yesterday, (bowed Clnclnnatlana a bit of real football, and walked off with a victory 3ver St Xavler College at Redland Field. 28 to 6. But despite the victory of the there waa an Imtnenaa amount of cbeer In the came and the result, for Clnclnnatlana.

Even to have scored on Centra waa a feat for 8t Xavler and her followers to be proud of. To have led the famous Kentucklans through a part of the Came, and to have been only one point behind at the end of the half meant almost aa much. The showing of Herb Davie, star half b'acjt of the ideal team, was another feature which brought Joy to the local fans, while some gathered, bits of consolation from the fact that one of the big guns of the Centre offense was Case Thonuiason, a local boy who starred at Newport High School last fall. Playing against enormous odd's, and considered by many of the spectators as" merely a necessary accessory to the showing of Centre College on a local gridiron, St Xavler covered itself with glory by playing excellent football and fighting like wildcats. Saints Show Up Well.

During the first part of the game the Saints actually outp'ayeil their famous opponents, man to man and as a team. As the game progressed they wore themselves out with their Derate efforts, but lothing could detract from the glory of tho opening quarter. But while St. Xaviei's showing was more than could be expected, the Work of the famous "Wonder Team" was, hardly up to the standard set for them by advance notices. Showing (lashes of a terrific power on the offense.

Time and again the yellow-clad team carried the ball Into the 'Blue territory, only to lose It on i i See Our interesting Display at Health Exposition. either peor football or bad breaks. Some very ragged work In handling; the ball alowed down their offense at the start of the gam, and was directly responsible for St Xavler'e score. Undoubtedly, the shining light of the entire game was "Bo" McMillan.

On th defense he played at and, allowing Snoddy to mo. Into th back field. At that position he seemed to be the one Centre end who fully solved the speedy attaekf of Herb, Davis. For St Xavler, two men stood head and shoulders above their teammates In football ability. If not In fighting spirit.

They were Davis and Wurxelbacher. Davis, behind far Inferior Interference, showed fully as well as any member of th Centre back field, with the possible exception of McMillan, Speed Zg Shock To Rival. His speed was a shock to the Colonels at the. start of the game, and It was not until the second half, when they took to laying for the- speedy Middletown boy, that the Centre cads succeeded In fully stopping him. Wurxelbacher showed his strerrgth on the defense.

Playing defensive' full back, he ranged from one side of tho field to th other and made more than half of St Xavler's tackles. The game started with Roberts kicking off for Centre. Davis took the ball on the 10-yard 'line and immediately brought the crowd to its feet by returning to' the 43-yard line before he was caught Cushlng punted to the -12-yard line. Hart fumbled on the next lay, the ball flying over the goal line. Three Centre men dived for It but missed it, and Davis recovered I for a touchdown.

Clnclnnatlana Forced Back, With three men between Tanner and Davis, another touchdown seemed imminent but the little Centre back knifed between the three and succeeded In forcing; Davis out of bounds on the twelve-yard line. Centre Immediately stiffened and forced the Saints back.

A drop kick failed and Centre took the ball. An exchange of punjs gave Centre the ball on, the twenty-eight-yard line.
