Scancella-Barner Boyd and Young Barner of Carlisle, announce the engagement of their son, Robert Barner of Carlisle, to Jennifer Scancella of Newton, the daughter of Joseph and Penelope Scancella of Warwick. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Council Rock High School and Shippensburg University where she received both a bachelor's and master's degree. She is currently executive director of SkillsUSA-VICA Council, Allentown.

The future groom is a graduate of Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg, and Shippensburg University. He is a biological chemist for Merck and Company, West Point. Their wedding is planned for Aug. 3, 2002, in North Wales, and they plan to reside in 9th grade Also, Julie Hallett, John Hammell, Raymond Henz, Kerri Hinson, Tiffany Horst, Amaretta Keeler, Adam Kennedy, Jennifer Marsh, Matthew Maurer, Jorgi McCar- Robert Barner and Jennifer Scancella Anniversary Stackfields celebrate 50 years together Thomas and Julia Stackfield of Carlisle recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Thomas Stackfield and Julia Palmer were introduced by friends.

They were married on April 28, 1952, in Hagerstown, Md. They have 10 children, Thomas of Harrisburg; Angela of Riverdale, Gary, Patricia, Milton, Vincent, Richard, Mary and Anthony, all of Carlisle, and Marshall of Gilroy, Calif. They also have 23 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Thomas is a retired employee of Carlisle Barracks, and Julia is a retired employee of AMP, Inc. The couple celebrated at a surprise party April 27 hosted by their children.
