You do not realize that bread is one of Burlington's important that there are eight local plants with an investment of thousands of dollars and which employ approximately 100 workers.

These 100 workers earn approximately $2,000 a week, or $104,000 a year, most of which goes for groceries, meats, clothing, rents and other merchandise in Burlington. The eight Burlington baking plants spend a vast amount of money which goes directly toward supporting other Burlington industries. Each plant has delivery trucks which are purchased through Burlington dealers and their maintenance is a source of income to these car agencies. These bakeries buy hundreds of tons of fuel through Burlington dealers. They spend thousands for flour, sugar, all of which is shipped by rail and indirectly beneficial to the railroad men.

These eight plants pay taxes to support Burlington schools; to pay Burlington officials' salaries; to pay for electric current; for water, etc. It is of tremendous importance that these Burlington Bakeries be given the support of every Burlington family. When you go to your dealers, demand Burlington-made bread and pastry. -This is a form of home missionary work that that will pay dividends to every individual.
