"WE have decided to call our special little paragraphs, Punctures," because we think they should be attended to at once. For that reason we shall endeavour to make them as and brief and topical as possible. IN issuing the Wheehvoman we are catering for the 70,000 or so lady cycliste throughout the world, and are endeavouring to produce the daintiest pennyworth yet issued, as our readers will see, printers and other things permitting. THE editorship is under the personal supervision of Miss Mabel Edwards, a lady of considerable journalistic experience, and Mr. Charles F.

Rideal, both of whom are ardent cyclists, assisted by a thoroughly representative and qualified staff of contributors. ARTICLES are promised by Lady Malmesbury, Lady Colin Campbell, Mrs. Alec Tweedie, Miss B. Miss Mabel Edwards, Miss C. E.

de Moleyns, Miss A. E. Wood, Miss Cory, Mr. Guy C. Eothery, Mr.

Gillingwater, Mr. C. W. Brown, Mr. Charles F.

Rideal, Dr. J. R. Godfrey Lowe, and a whole host of people, who are generally credited with knowing what they are writing about; whilst art will be represented by Mr. Starr Wood, Miss May Pierce, and others.

THE paper has been specially made, and the engraving done by Messrs. Carl Hentschel Co. There are special cycling notes from New York, Paris, the chief provincial cities and towns, correspondents in Hyde, Regent's and Battersea Parks, club notes and runs, and indeed everything that can be done, will be-done, to make it agreeable and popular. THE chief day in the cycling season so far has been May 2nd, the occasion we note opening of the beautiful premises of the'" Wheel Club," at Hereford House, South Kensington. NEXT week we shall have a description of the novel race which took place at the Trafalgar Club grounds on Saturday last when neat dress and complete mastery of machine were considered in preference to swift riding.

This, we need not say, is a shall we say, a ride the right direction. THE Gymkhana races, which are gaining so rapidly in favour just at present are remarkably exciting spectacles, and certainly as pretty and as can be seen any where, and they 'distinctly tend to the elevation and popularity of cycling..
