Poulos, a 178-pound twice after starter Ricky Lake went out with an injury in the first quarter, while Johnson, a 190-pound quarterback, came up with key runs to keep Georgia moving when the Bulldog offense threatened to let down. Georgia scored four of the first six times it had the ball in the first half, driving 80, 56, 58 yards for touchdowns and then adding a 36-yard field goal by Kim Braswell just before intermission. The first score came on a fluke play from the Rebel 44. Lake carried three yards before the ball squirted out of his arms.

Guard John Jennings snagged it on the run and sprinted 39 yards to the goal. Sub quarterback James Ray sparked the second march with two passes for 26 yards and three runs for 22. He got the final 11 on an option, darting over right tackle, skirting one defender and knifing through the last knot of Rebels. Poulos, who netted 116 yards on 15 carries to lead all runners, ran five times for 48 yards to cover most of the distance in the third drive, including the final two yards. Georgia scored after Ole Miss fumbled the second half kickoff on its 25.

Fullback Bob Honey-cutt swept left end on the first play for the tally. The Bulldogs drove 99 yards for a fourth quarter touchdown after Ole Miss failed to score in four tries from the two. Johnson ran five times for 33 yards and Poulos four for 61, in scoreboard again in the third period when Charles Goodwin put the skids on Beaufort's quarterback in the end zone for a safety. An 18-yard off-tackle run to paydirt by Boyd in the third quarter and a kick by Sam Jenkins, splitting the uprights, capped the scoring for the night, giving the Holly Hill school its fifth victory in six games this season. Boyd, injured early in the season and missing two contests, ran his total rushing yardage to 849 yards.

Roberts head coach George Richardson credits his successful season to a stonewall defense anchored by halfback Gregory Outlaw, George Flood, Hezekiah Jefferson and Zebedee Davis. Goodwin and sophomore Harry Mid-dleton are also performing flawlessly, Richardson said. BEAUFORT, S. C.

The Roberts Tigers riddled Beaufort's defense here Friday night, running up a 20-0 halftime score and coasting to a 29-0 conference football victory over the undermanned coastal AAA school. Sammie Ellis got the point parade underway early in the opening period, blocking a punt, scooping up the loose ball and scampering 23 yards for the first TD. Minutes later, Donnie Irick threw a touchdown strike to Charles Wigfall, covering 40 yards and Ivory Boyd ran for the two-point conversion. In the second quarter, Nathaniel Washington broke loose on a 45-yard sprint for the third Roberts TD, giving the Tigers a comfortable halftime margin. Less than three minutes earlier in the final period, VMI once trailing by 10 points had moved into a 24-17 advantage on MacBowman's scoring run. Jim Ingram's pass interception and 11-yard return to The Citadel's 19 set up the score for the Keydets. Borman had electrified the VMI partisans by returning the game's opening kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown.

Bucknell threatened only once in the first quarter when it reached the Davidson 2-yard line after a 44-yard pass from quarterback Howard Buke to sophomore Bill Stein.

However, Bucknell couldn't complete the series and on the fourth down faked a field goal with Rick Ellson throwing an incomplete pass.
