George L. Reeves.

The Air Force "buddy system" has steadily gained in popularity during recent months, Reeves said. This means a group of close friends or individuals from the same area who enlist in the Air Force together will be guaranteed assignment to the same basic training flight during their stay at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Individual enlistment is still available for those who prefer to go it alone, but the Air Force has found that many interested qualified young men have hesitated to enlist in the past because of separation from close friends who enlist with them, Sergeant Reeves said the "Buddy System" has definitely ended this problem. Also, under this system, applicants are given the new Aerospace Qualification Examination which allows them to select, before enlistment, the type of technical training they will subsequently be trained in, he added. Young men between 17 and 27 years of age (both high school and -high school graduates are eligible) interested obtaining more information about the "Palmetto Buddy Flight" may contact Sergeant Reeves at the local Selective Board in Orangeburg any Monday, Wednesday or Friday.
