"The Womanlessi Wedding" which is to be staged by the business men. of this community Thursday and Friday nights at the city hall, promises to be quite an affair, with lots of fun for all, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson from Her-ington called on Mrs. H.

Peterson's in Wilsey and attended the fair. Mrs. Liberty Bacon and baby expect to come home from the Council Grove hospital Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs.

Nels Evans of Wilsey were dinner guests at Mr. Hiskey's Sunday. John Stillion took a load of fine potatoes to the Riegel store at Wilsey I and will stay with his aunt, Mrs. G. B.

Horton. A large number of passengers enjoyed aeroplane rides while the aeroplane was here during the fair last week. Mr. and Mrs. Lew Fink and son of Cottonwood Falls visited old friends here Friday and Saturday and also attended the Fair.

Mr. and Mrs. B. J. Hudson motored to Americus Sunday where they visited Mr.

and Mrs. Harry Pickett and daughter Helen Louise. Miss Erma Dhea Young visited in Wilsey Friday and Saturday with Misses Mary and. Elsie Ewing. Several of the young people from here motored to Emporia Sunday to attend a Vesper service which was being held there.

Miller, Mrs. W. Holmes and Mrs. Herbert Randies were in Junction City shopping on Saturday. The White City high school football team suffered a 22 to 0 defeat at the hands of the Alta Vista team.

Our boys, although inexperineced and very light, put up a very good fight. Miss Etta Talley spent Sunday with her parents. Miss Mary Mintern, who is attending the Hutchinson business college spent the week end at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. H.

Frey, Miss Hazel Orevig and Mr. Keller were in Emporia Saturday. Mrs. Frances Block is sick at this time. Miss Sadie Olson is staying with "her.

Mr. and Mrs. Byron Shubert and daughter, Arlene of Junction City visited with Mrs. Shubert's mother, Mrs. Matilda Olson Saturday.

Mrs. W. L. Bunning who has been sick for several weeks is reported as slightly improved at this time. Although Mrs.

Rev. J. H. Anderson motored to Kansas City, Kansas Tuesday of this week after Mrs. Anderson, who underwent a minor operation at the Bethany hospital recently.

Mrs. W. M. Barlow returned home to Wilsey the latter part of the week, after having spent most of the summer with relatives in Bellingham, Washington and other parts on the western coast. Also with the Roy Barlow family in Midwest, Wyo. The Wm. Ramsey cream station received a new coat of paint recently, and also Riegel's store has been repainted.

Quite a large number attended the cake walk andold fiddlers contest at the high school last Friday evening. The proceeds from the caks walk amounted to about $35. Don't forget "A Southern Cinderella" at the high school on Friday have company, her many friends wish her a speedy recovery. Mrs. George Torgeson, Mrs.

Henry Torgeson, Mrs. John Wilde, Miss Dorothy Wilde and Miss Bertha Scott visited at the Robert Christensen home in Junction City last Saturday. Mrs. Mary E. Scott left Friday for Wanette, Oklahoma, where she will spend a week with her sister-in-law, Itfrs.

Mollie Killian and family. White City put over its 15th annual fair and stock show last Wednesday and Thursday. Although the exhibits were not as large in some departments as in other years, keen interest was manifested and the fair drew a large crowd Thursday. The (parade Thursday afternoon was good and the awards were as follows: 1st prize to M. E.

Sunday School; 2nd to 'grade school, 3rd prize to Eastern Star Chapter. Mr. C. L. Frey, who is president of the Fair Association, is deserving of honorable mention for his untiring efforts to make the fair a success.

Thomas. Torgeson from Topeka relieved Postmaster Holmes last week as Mr. Holmesj went to Missouri to see about his farm. Mr. Torgeson is now helping in the grain store, as Mr.
