A resolution decfaring the Intentions the Council to levy special assessments in accordance with Section 66.60 of the Wisconsin Statutes for the grading of Olive Street from Kearney Avenue to Coolidge Avenue to established subgrade thereof and the construction thereon of a one course port-land cement concrete pavement together with a portland cement concrete combined qurb and gutter.

Before such improvements are made, the Commissioner of Public Works Is directed to cause water and sewer service pipes to be laid in said street from the mains to the curb line of each lot fronting on the street; to receive bids for uch work; and to report the- amount charged to pach property to the City lateral at 4523 Wextway Ave nue be allowed and paid and that the sum of $284.70 be appropriated from the Contingent Fund to defray the cost thereof. Recommend that the resolu tlon be adopted, 6. Item 69 of May 18, 1965, being the resolution to provide that the Recreation Department be authorized and directed to place two playground leaders In Greencrest Playground dur Ing the 1965 season, and that the sum of $1,750.00 be appro priated from the Contingent Fund to defray the cost thereof; Recommend that the resolu tion be received and filed and that the Recreation Dept. be In structed to Investigate the need and that i it is found to be needed a request for same be included in said department's 1966 budget. 7.

Item 73 of May 18, 1965, being the resolution to provide that the work of Olson Fence Company in erecting a fence at Racine Street Playground be accepted and final payment made in the sum of $1,318.00, which sum includes the following extra work which is hereby approved as part of said contract; 2 extra end posts for opening for access to drinking fountain, $18.00, and that payment for said work be made as follows: $1,300.00 from funds heretofore appropriated; $18.00 from the Contingent Fund; Recommend that the resolution be adopted." 8. Item 82 of May 18, 1965, being the resolution to provide that the contract for Landscaping at the University Extension Center be awarded to Terrace U)f i.tx coordacu' with their bid, they being the lowest responsible bidder, and that the sum of $19,701.37 be appropriated from Account 7506, University Building Bond Fund, and $1,242.45 from the Contingent Fund to defray the cost of said work; Recommend that the resolution be amended by changing the amount to be appropriated from Account 7506 to read and by deleting the amount of $1,242.45 from the Contingent Fund and as so amended it be adopted. Item 25 of May 18, 1965, being the communication-irorh the American Bank Trust Company requesting an easement under Lake Avenue approximately 100 feet north of Fifth Street for an area of not more than 3 feet in diameter to enable them to build a tunnel which would connect their property located on the east side of Lake Avenue with their main building- as it is their intentions to construct drive-in windows on the northern part of their lot, which is located on the portheast corner of Lake Avenue and Fifth Street; Recommend that the request be granted provided the American Bank Trust Company enter into an agreement with the City of Racine as provided in Section 66.045 of the Wisconsin Statutes. 8. 1. His Honor the Mayor announced that the time had arrived for a public hearing on Ordinance No. 85 of May 18, 1965 nroceedines. being an or dinance to amend the map of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Racine. No one appeared.
