Oakland-Tribune, Sunday, Otf, ,0 2-M Lette nome Naming Our City Streets WATERHOUSE ROAD, from Lyman to Clemens Roads in Upper Fruitvale was named in honor of Haschall Waterhouse, a World War I casualty. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. C. J.

Waterhouse of 27th Street. JORDAN ROAD, east and west from Redwood Road in Avenue Terrace was named for Frank Jordan, killed in World War I. He was a son of Manuel and Frances Jordan of East 33rd Street, and worked in the street department at our city hall. MASTERSON STREET, formerly Kanning Street east of High and a block north of MacArthur was named in memory of Sgt Barton W. Masterson, son of William Masterson, wharfinger for Oakland.

Masterson was formerly cashier in the county tax collector's office. He was killed in action Aug. 4, 1918, in France. RETTIG STREET, was named on Oct. 25, 1922, in memory of CpL Arthur W.

Rettig, a former city fireman, killed in action July 18, 1918, in the battle of Soissons. The street is in the Fruitvale Acres Tract, north of Burlingame.
