On account of the disagreeable weath er on Monday evening, the school meet ing in district No. 7 was not very well attended and an adjournment was taken to Monday evening, July 10. Every one in the district should attend this meeting and show by their presence that they are interested in school matters. A clerk will be elected at this meeting to serve for three years. When a saloon is running wide open seven days in the week, we are of the opinion that the state law requiring sa loons to close up on Sunday is not being very well observed.

A town board has full power to act in such a case, arid in justice to the people they should see that the law is rigidly enforced. Aid. Link moved that the majority report be adopted and Aid. Johnson moved that the minority report be adopted. A general discussion prevailed as to whether the council could refuse a license. It was argued that the place in question has been a tough Hint and that thugs and bums frequented the saloon and then again that the man who had applied for the licence had never conducted the ealoon.
