WANTED MACHINISTS FOR ALL GRADES of work at full pay and with first-class appointments and surroundings. We run our shop 34 hours per week, and our men have always been satisfied with their pay. surroundings, and treatment. A. number of our men quit work under the following circumstances: We were among the first to adopt the 34-hour week in Chicago, and at that time we submitted the arrangement of hours to a vote of our employes.

Almost unanimously they voted for a division of the 34-hour week, which provided for a Saturday half-holiday. Upon a recent demand by the Machinists union that we tun the shop hours each day, we offered to take a vote again, and this vote was taken and resulted In a majority favoring the Saturday half-holiday. A number of our employes then quit work, although expressing themselves as entirely satisfied with their Jobs. Our shop Is an open shop, not discriminating for or against union or nonunion men.
