Second Assembly District Convention. jt acini: county augus. THURSDAY, XOVKMBER, 3, 1870' Nvertisements TO PHYSICUxT' Hew Ohl "was Carried. The Cincinnati Timet, Radical, is frank enough to say that, but for the negro vote, Ohio would have been Democratic by 10,000 majority. Tbe negroes, voting in a unit for the Radical party, hold the balance of power in the State, and the white people have ceased to control the Elitical power of the State.

This may a pleasant reflection to some, while it George Bremner. This gentleman is the People's independent candidate for member of Assembly in the Second District. lie is a resident of Yorkville, and has resided in that town and the town of Dover ever since he was a boy! He is a carpenter and joiner by trade, and is a hard-working practical man. All who know him, know him to be a man of ability and strict integrity. He is no office-seeker, but consented to Sharp Practice.

The radicals dare not meet democrats in public discussion on the finance and tariff questions. In order to 'give democratic speakers no chance to refute their lies and slanders, they have mado a requisition on all the radical orators within five hundred miles to make a raid on this district to secure Judgo Lyon's election. They have appointed meetings to take place simultaneously throughout the district on Monday afternoon and evening. Tioer ooicroot. Wmci jvs rrr.R can u.

In these meetings they can make as many false representations as they see proper, and democrats will have no chance to refute them. We warn voters not to be caught in this radical trap. The great fight is on the tariff question.

No man is nominated as a candidate for Congress by the radical party who is not pledged to that party to sustain a protective tariff. Mr. Lyon is so pledged or he never would have received the nomination. Every radical paper in this district supports a high tariff. Is Mr.Lyon going in opposition to his party organs Xot at all.
