Billy Boyle is to be himself again. The place run by Boyle In Calhoun place will be reopened within forty-eight hours, and with its reopening there must come to many In Chicago a reminiscent mood. The old chop- house, made famous by the lusclousness of Its broils and fries, it noted habitues, and the stirring scenes enacted within the confines of its quaint walls, will serve to recall many pleasant The banker, broker, politician, gambler. actor, artist, pugilist, turfman, and roustabout made history in the old place. Boyle ap preciated every scene as it was unfolded.

When the final crash came, some nve years ago, among his assets Billy had as choice a collection of autograph a man ever pos sessed. The unpaid "tabs" represented every thing from a hot bird and a cold bottle to a car-fare "toucn." iwyie eouia not say no. He paid for his provender and supplies in cash and accepted paper from hia customers. It is said that when an inventory ol stock waa taken, after Boyle quit a beef tongue and S45.000 in unpaid "memos" were all that could be found. Chicago for five years has been without Boyle.

The closing down of the place was a sad blow to his unique clientele, its reopen- ins should serve to cheer the Chicago man- a bout-town. Oyster-houses ana la Dies a note, restaurants and roof gardens, are all right for the ordinary class. The heterogeneous mass of Bohemians, however, need more than these. The atmosphere of a Boyle' Is essential to a chop or a ateak wnen tne ordinary class is abed. Vive la Boyle! Kedivivus muy.
