CARROLL DAILY HERALD, CARROLL, IOWA FRIDAY, JUNE 1940 Bocietu, Schroeder- Wiederhold Nuptials Told the marriage of Miss Helen Wlederhold of Carroll to Edmund Schroeder of Arcadia, which took place here May 11, was revealed today. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J.

Wlederhold of Carroll and the bridegroom, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Schroeder of Arcadia, Tne ceremony took place at SS. Peter and Paul's Church with the Rev. L.

Schenkelberg reading the single 'ring marriage lines. The only guests present at the service were the parents of the bride and groom, the bride's sister, Dorothy Wlederhold, and the bridegroom's sister, Mrs. William Badding, of Arcadia. Attendants were the bride's sister, Miss Dolores Wiederhold, and the bridegroom's brother, Joe Schroeder, of Arcadia. The bride was attired in navy blue net, with which she wore white accessories and a corsage of sweet peas and roses.

Her bridesmaid was dressed In navy blue sheer with accessories of a lighter shade of blue and a corsage similar to the bride's. Mr. Schroeder associated in business with his father at Arcadia. Mrs. Schroeder is bookkeeper at the Carroll Creamery position she has held since her graduation from the St.

Angela Acad- erty. A. F. Becker Family Of Hollywood Guests In John Hoffman Home Mr. and Mrs.

John E. Hoffman entertained at their country home west of Carroll Wednesday afternoon and evening' in honor of Mr. and Mrs. A. F.

Becker, son, Richard, and daughter, Ruth Ann, of Hollywood, Calif. Mr. Becker is Mrs. Hoffman's brother. Mr.

Featured entertainers of the Show will be Captain Art Davis jlnd his All-American Pilots, who latently thrilled the crowds at the Columbus. Ohio, air circus. Davis was born and raised in Greene County near Grand Junction, Iowa. Highlights of the afternoon thrill program will bo the skywriting of Captain Davis and his aerial dive through a wall of flame: the bat-wing flight ot Charles Zmuda, famed Polish parachutist; and the aerial acrobatics of George Starr. The program will continue for about three hours As a courtesy to patrons of the nir show this year, all children under 12 years of age will be admitted free of charge.

Queen Esther Girls Entertain Mothers At Picnic Thursday going by way of Chicago, Buffalo, Washington, D. and New York; In the evening a chicken supper was served at a large table decorated with bud vases of roses. There were also bouquets of flow- era about the rooms. Supper was prepared by Mrs. John' Horback of Manning and served by Mrs.

Leonard Hoffman and Miss Helen Sextro. Those in the group for the afternoon and evening, additional to the honored guests and their hosts, were Frank Becker, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Becker and Mrs. Ben Schenkelberg of Fonda; Mr, and! Mrs.

J. H. Schaake of Anita; Mr; and Mrs. John Horback and family and Miss Helen Sextro of Manning; Mr. and Mrs.

Paul Heires and family of Carroll; Mr. and Mrs. Joe R. Hoffman, Mr. and Mrs.

Leonard Hoffman and Lyle Schultz, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hoffman, son, John and daughter, Yvonne, who arrived in the afternoon as a surprise to the family from Los Angeles, where had been for almost a year. On their way they stopped at various points of interest, such aa Vancouver, B. Yellowstone National Park and the Black Hills region.

Esther Hubbard reviewed the lunch was served. Play cast members present were Orren Grundmeier, Russell and Lois Kroeger, Dora Lauer, Charlotte Strait, Milo Baak and Merlin Jons.
