Bird Fans in Voirne. The newest and prettiest fan is quite small and composed of feathers from the breast of the pheasant or the peacock. At the same time the tiny fan of lace or painted 'gauze, elaborately spangled, holds its own in fashion's favor. As a matter fact, reilly good fans never look oid-fashioned, and one wonders why a gir! who has a large sum to expend upon trousseau does not invest in a beautiful fan a genuine antique, if possible; if not, a modern work of art. Low priced Lenders Hardware, Harness, Implements and Paint. A Spirit Photograph. U'm. Hightower, Strong City's renowned spirit medium, had his photograph taken recently. There is nothing wonderful about that, but there is about the photograph.

When the negative was developed a number of indistinct figures could be seen surrounding Mr. Ilightower's portrait, their etherial forms robed in white, tieecy folds, each bearing a lyre. Some of Stron? City's residents im- agine they can recognize some of the spirit figures, but thev do not agree on the identity and a "town row" is imineut. Con Harvey says one of the figuros is a good likeness of "Hi Ji." but John McCallum dissent3. He holds that if it was "Hi Ji," he would be holding a bottle instead of harp.

Con comes back at John by saying the figura holdsa lyre, not a harp, and tne lyre is very suggestive Hi Ji's principal wrtaknees. The chances are that the "joint" issue will be superceded by the Hi Ji contention.
