National By United Press International Incessant rains again drenched once drought-stricken areas of the Southwest Saturday, accompanied in some cases by tornadoes and damaging flash floods. Five days of rain in north Texas drove rivers, streams and lakes to their banks or over them. Flood waters lapped at rooftops in parts of Oklahoma' City, Okla. "We've pulled people out of cars, off rooftops and out of trees." a fire department member said of the northwestern part of Oklahoma City.

Thirty National Guardsmen rescued hundreds of residents from the onrush of flood waters in the city. A fire department official said a dam at Ski Island, a residential section of the city, was in danger of breaking and that houses below the dam were being evacuated. In rain-weary north Texas, civil defense officials said several days of dry weather were needed. But a National Weather Service forecast said more rain was expected today. "The ground is saturated and there are numerous flood warnings." a civil defense spokesman said.

Thunderstorms broke from dark skies early Saturday in west Texas. A tornado hit Tye, near Abilene, injuring a woman resident of a trailer camp, and a windstorm battered nearby Ilawley. damaging or destroying mobile homes there. In Oklahoma, alxuit 200 persons were removed from a nursing home in Yukon, an Oklahoma-City suburb. Police said the Northeast Expressway was flooded and several cars were stalled under Hie Lincoln underpass in water "that looks like a river." Flash floods were reported along the Mingo and Joe creeks in Tulsa.

100 miles northeast of Oklahoma City. The creeks had risen three to five feet in a 30 minute downpour. The Red Cross set up a temporary relief centers in an Oklahoma City residence and a church. Elsewhere, snow coated the northern Iwrder states from Montana into Minnesota, along with high elevations of the Rockies. One to three inches of snow fell on parts of North Dakota.
