Friday. Memorials may be made to South Park Presbyterian Church, Rock Island, where she was a member, or American Heart Association. Mrs. Heitzman died Monday, April 29, 1996, in Bradenton, Fla. The former Adelaide Marshall was born Dec.

8, 1922, in Monmouth, the daughter of Bert and Genevieve Nicklin Marshall. She married Dale Heitzman March 12, 1955, in Monmouth. She had been employed at Royal Neighbors of America, retiring in 1985 after 30 years. She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America Retirees and American Association of Retired Persons. Survivors include the widower; a daughter, Pat Heitzman, Loves Park, a son, Terry D.

Heitzman, Concord, two grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Ranney, Boise, Idaho; and a brother, James Marshall, Monmouth. Vera Huneke Services for Vera E. Huneke, 85, of 2029 42nd Rock Island, are 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Knox-Larson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial is in Aspen Grove Cemetery, Burlington, Iowa.

Mrs. Huneke died Monday, April 29, 1996, at Laurelwood Health Care Center, Rock Island. The former Vera Paulus was born July 25, 1910, in Burlington, the daughter of John and Dorothy Behne Paulus.

She married Robert G. Huneke Oct. 27, 1929, in Hannibal, Mo. He died March 21, 1985. She was a member of Fifteenth Avenue Christian Church, Rock Island.

She enjoyed crocheting and dining out. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Deloris Huneke, Milan; grandchildren, Cindy Harned, Whiteman Air Force Base, and Sgt. Craig Huneke, USMC, Santa Rosa, three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Blanche Orth, Aurora, Colo. Linda Buttram Linda Sue Buttram, 44, Muscatine, formerly of Rock Island, died Tuesday, April 30, 1996, at Musca- tine Care Center. Services are 3 p.m.

5, 1972, in Milan. She was employed as a waitress and floral arranger in the Quad City area. She was affiliated with the Methodist church. Mr. Stannke died Monday, April 29, 1996, at Illini Hospital, Silvis. He was born April 18, 1946, in Moline, the son of Milton A. and Vera Clifton Stannke. He married Patricia Hensley Feb.

7, 1970, in Rock Island. He was employed as a production parts reclaimer working at John Deere Harvester Works, East Moline. He had served in the Marine Reserves. He enjoyed gardening, animals and watching his children play sports. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Beth Stannke, and a son, Mathew Stannke, both at home; his mother, Moline; his father, Bradenton, and a sister, Pam Early, Alexandria, Va.

IOWA Sister Mary Bald Sister Mary Alphonsa Bald, 87, Bishop Drum Care Des Moines, died Tuesday, April 30, 1996, at the center. Services are 10:30 a.m. Friday at Humility of Mary Center Chapel, Davenport. Burial is in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation is after 4 p.m.

Thursday, with a wake service at 7. Memorials may be made to Sisters of Humility of Mary Retirement Fund. Halligan-McCabe Funeral Home, Davenport, is handling the arrangements. Miss Bald was born Aug. 17, 1908, in Buffalo, Iowa, the daughter of Edward Charles and Mary Agnes Cooney Bald.

She attended Brown's Business College, Davenport. She entered the Congregation of Humility of Mary on Jan. 1, 1934. She professed her first vows Aug. 1, 1936 and professed her final vows Aug.1, 1939.

Her missions included Dowling, Des Moines, Iowa, St. Vincent's Home, Davenport, Ottumwa Heights, Dunlap and St. Joseph Health and Rehabilitation Center, Ottumwa. Survivors include a sister, Ethel Keller, Kalamazoo, brothers, Charles Bald, Mountain Home, and Vincent Bald, Breckenridge, and several nieces and nephews. Kenneth Hartman Kenneth C.

Hartman, 91, Lady Lake, formerly of Naples, and Davenport, died Tuesday, April 30, 1996, in Leesburg, Fla. Services are 10 a.m. Saturday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m.

Friday. Memorials may be made to Davenport Area Foundation or a favorite charity. Mr. Hartman was born April 17, 1905, in Rock Island, the son of David L. and Blanche Coster Hartman.

He married Suzanne Thompson April 30, 1931. She died 25, 1983. He attended Augustana College for two years and graduated from University of Illinois in 1927 with a major in money and banking. He was employed at Davenport Bank and Trust, starting in February 1933, seven months after its original opening and retired in June 1980 as a senior vice president, trust officer and director of the bank after 47 years. He was treasurer for 15 years of the Davenport Community Chest prior to its merger with the present United Way; was one of the organizers of Davenport Area Foundation and its first treasurer; was one of the original organizers and first secretary and treasurer of Davenport Club; a member and past president of Outing Club; a member and past director of Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club; and was president of the former Town Club.

He also was a member of North Lake Presbyterian Church, Lady Lake. Survivors include daughters, Diane H. Price, Susan J. Boldt, both of Richardson, Texas, and Judith E. Kiley, Lady Lake; seven greandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Thursday. A memorial will be established. Mr. Borst died Monday, April 29, 1996, at home. He was born Sept.

20, 1912, in Rock Island, the son of Charles F. and Augusta Mielke Borst. He was employed at John Deere Harvester Works for 28 years as a parts shipper, retiring in 1974. Prior to that he was a welder at Rock Island Arsenal and various machine shops in the Quad City area. He caddied and ran the concession stand in 1927 during the first year Saukie Golf Course opened.

The following year he ran Pro Shop at Saukie. He was a World War II Navy veteran, having served in the South Pacific Theater in ship repair. He was recognized for heroism when he pulled young boy from a pond in Lincoln Park. He was a life member and past commander of Rock Island VFW Post 1303; life member of Friend's Circle Club, Moline; United Auto Workers 434 Retirees; former member of Meat Cutters' Union; was active in Democratic Party in the 30s and 1 40s; served as Precinct Committeeman; 6th. Ward Alderman; City Chairman and President of Rock Island County Young Democrats; Rock Island Conservation Club; and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

He played all sports in high school. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and playing cards. Survivors include a nephew, H.B. Peterson, Phoenix, and a special friend, Pearl Wuestenberg, Rock MOLINE Elaine Fahlstrom There are 1 no services for Elaine G. Fahlstrom, Denver, formerly of Moline.

Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Trimble Funeral Home, Moline is in charge of arrangements. Miss Fahlstrom died Friday, April 26, 1996, in Morrison, Colorado. She was born Oct. 3, 1914, in Moline, the daughter of Charles and Martina Fahlstrom.

She graduated from Moline high School in 1932. She was a secretary for Goodyear Tire Company prior to her retirement. Survivors include three nieces and three nephews. Florence 'Babe' Ruge Services for Florence "Babe" Ruge, 87, of 253 46th Moline, are 1 p.m. Saturday at Esterdahl Mortuary Moline.

Burial is in Rose Lawn Memorial Estate. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society. Mrs.

Ruge died Sunday, April 28, 1996, at Trinity Medical Center, East Campus, Moline. The former Florence Girard was born July 15, 1908, in Stanley, the daughter of Joseph and Alvina Girard. She married Floyd Rolltns in 1925 in Pekin. He died in 1976. She later married Albert Ruge Jan.

25, 1978, in Las Vegas. He died July 17, 1995. In earlier years, she was a dressmaker, fashioning clothes for many people in the Quad City area. She was a former member of the East End Club, and a former member of the Moline Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed gardening and playing bingo.

Survivors include stepdaughters, Judy Stevens, Indianapolis, and Diane Johnson, in California; a stepson, Jerry Ruge; several stepgrandchildren; and several stepgreatgrandchildren. EAST MOLINE M. Ardelle Kaszinski M. Ardelle Kaszinski, 78, East Moline, formerly of Bryant, Iowa, died Sunday, April 28, 1996, at Trinity Medical Center, East Campus, Moline. Services are 10:30 a.m.

Thursday at St. Mary's Church, Bryant. Burial is in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Cancer and Hospice Program. Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, Iowa, is in charge of arrangements.

The former M. Ardelle Romer was born July 31, 1917, in Clinton, the daughter of Howard and Mabel Kamer Romer. She married Bernard Kaszinski Aug. 20, 1940, in Bryant. He died Jan.

1, 1988. She retired from Nielsen Clearing House in Clinton. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and cards. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Glen Kuehl, Bryant, Iowa; a son, James Kaszinski, Hampton, Iowa; and three granchildren. SILVIS Allen Eastman Services for Allen Rae Eastman, 43, of 276 6th Silvis, are 11 a.m.

Friday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline. Visitation is 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday. A memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Eastman died Monday, April 29, 1996, in Peoria County. He was born Sept. 11, 1952, in Moline, the son of Leamon Rae and Mildred Rye Eastman. He married Candace Gause Nov.

30, 1974, in Silvis. He was a 1971 graduate from Moline High School. He was truck driver and drove for 3-I Trucking. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed stockcar races. Survivors include the widow; daughters, Sonya Rae and Heather Rae Eastman, both at home; a granddaughter, Kilee Rae Eastman; his father, Moline; a sister, Jackie Carlson, Moline; and brothers, Keith and Gary Eastman, both of Moline.

AREA Della Anderson Della C. Anderson, 87, Aledo, died Tuesday, April 30, 1996, at Mercer County Hospital Extended Care Unit. Services are 11 a.m. Friday at Messiah Lutheran Church, Aledo, where she was a member. Burial is in Mount Vernon Cemetery, North Henderson, Ill.

Visitation is 10 a.m. to service time. Memorials may be made to the church. Fippinger Funeral Home, Aledo, is handling the arrangements. Miss Anderson was born Aug.

20, 1908, in Greene Township, the daughter of Alfred J. and Ida Marie Johnson Anderson. She was formerly employed at Wells-LaMont Glove Factory and later did various housekeeping duties for area families. She was a member of The Women of Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and Mercer County Hospital Auxiliary. Survivors include a sister, Lillie Johnson, Aledo; and several nieces and nephews.

Marvin Keim Marvin J. Keim, 61, Geneseo, died Tuesday, April 30, 1996, at Trinity Medical Center, East Campus, Moline. Arrangements are pending at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Homes, Geneseo. George Milem George L. Milem, 79, Erie, died Tuesday, April 30, 1996, at Trinity Medical Center, East Campus, Moline.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at Gibson Funeral Home, Erie. Burial is in Erie Cemetery. Visitation is 6 to 8 tonight. A memorial fund has been established.

Mr. Milem was born Oct. 2, 1916, in Hanna Township, the son of James K. and Mary Ann Dean Milem. He married Elizabeth Hedgepeth March 13, 1946, in DeWitt, Iowa.

He retired as the Logistics Support Division Warehouseman and General Foreman at the Rock Island Arsenal in 1971. He had also owned and operated the former Milem Standard Station, Erie. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He enjoyed cars and fishing. Survivors include the widow; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Cathy Milem, Cambridge, Charles and Kyle Milem, Sycamore, and Douglas and Candi Milem, Erie; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Jenny Bennett, Cordova, Leona Park, Muscatine, and Ethel Hofmeister, Engelwood, and a brother, James Milem, Alpha.

Betty Nelson Betty L. Nelson, 88, Macomb, formerly of the Quad City area, died Monday, April 29, 1996, at Heartland Health Care Center, Macomb. Services are 2 p.m. Friday at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home, Macomb. Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Macomb.

Memorials may be made to the care center. The former Betty Scanlan was born Jan. 8, 1908, in Hancock County near LaHarpe, the daughter of Thomas and Effie Carnes Scanlan. She married Norris Nelson Dec. 21, 1936.

He died July 19, 1972. She was employed for many years as a hairdresser. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Macomb, and the Order of Eastern Star, Milan. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Norrine and Don Dieke, Macomb; three grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; sisters, Mabel Velge and Velma Thomas, both of Rock Island; and a brother, Earl Scanlan, Carthage. Mr. Dostalek died Monday, April 29, 1996, at the home. He was born Nov. 9, 1910, in Chicago, the son of Antoine and Rose Mayer Dostalek. He married Dorothy Dean May 24, 1934.

She died in December 1989. He was employed as a phone man for the Chicago Board of Trade for many years, retiring in 1981. He was a member of the Highland Park Park Elks Club and the HighPresbyterian Church. Survivors include a- daughter, Carol McCollum, Davenport; a son, Gerald Dostalek, Schaumberg, five grandchildren; and his sisters, Helen Eichler, Seattle, Mildred Clauson, Chesterfield, and Sylvia Hadjuk, Highland Park, Ill. Shetler, 63, of 1107 Orange Muscatine, died Monday, April 29, 1996, at Services are 1 p.m. Friday at George M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, Muscatine. Burial is in Muscatine Memorial Park, with military rites conducted by the Muscatine VFW and American Legion, of which he was a member. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m.

Thursday. A memorial fund has been established. Mr. Shetler was born March 1, 1933, in Buffalo Prairie Township, the son of Jonas C. and Sophia Wolf Shetler.

He married Janet Canarr June 15, 1968, in Oquawaka. He had been a commercial truck driver for Miller Containers of Moline and later for Truck Transport Inc. in Muscatine. He was a Korean Conflict Army veteran. Survivors include the widow; daughters, Cindy Glaspie, Kirksville, Peggy Cole, Carlisle, Iowa, and Kandice Imlay, Radcliffe, Iowa; sons, Donald Glaspie, Water100, Iowa, and James Glaspie, Grand Rapids, 13 grandchildren; sisters, Mary Kirkland, Moline, Ann Brugman, Roscoe, and Laura Fuhlman, Muscatine; and a brother, Merle Shetler, Davenport.

Carl J. Weissmann, 550 52nd Moline, who practiced medicine in the Quad-Cities for 40 years, died Monday at Carle Hospital, Champaign. Arrangements are pending at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Dr. Weissman served, as the presi- Rock Island County Medical Society in 1965 and still was an active member, according to current president Dr.

Miguel Flores. "He always had insightful thoughts and offered good comments," Dr. Flores said. Although Dr. Wiessman had been retired for many years he still attended scientific comments and stayed informed on current issues, Dr.

Flores said. Dr. Weissman, a Cincinnati, Ohio, native, graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. After five years in the military, that included serving with the occupation forces in Japan after World War II, he came to the Quad-Cities and joined the East Moline practice of his brother Dr. M.F.

Weissmann. In 1947, he took over the medical practice of Dr. H.M. Gibson, Moline. According to Connie Lannin of Trinity Medical Center, Dr.

Weissmann was medical staff president of Lutheran Hospital in 1955. In 1965, he was president of the county medical society. He had been elected the society's secretary two years earlier. In 1970, he and two other area doctors Dr. James Miller and Dr.

Ruth Rominger traveled with 162 Illinois State Medical Society members to Northeast Africa. In addition, Dr. Weissman served on the Rock Island County Public Health Committee that worked with the county board of supervisors to create and establish the county health department He retired from practice in 1987.
