She was married to Frank W. Hulett of Browning, on Oct. 19, 1928, in Virginia, 111. He is deceased. Her children and their spouses are Patricia and Gordon Schwabe, Johnson-Peters Announcement is made of the engagement of Rebecca Irene Johnson, Moline, and Thomas R.

Peters, Bettendorf. She is the daughter of Mary Johnson, Ohio, 111. His parents are Sara and Richard Starkey, Sidney, and Larry and Wilma Peters, New Braunfels, Texas. The couple will be married Oct. 23 in the Church of Peace, Rock Island.

Raymond Lundell, 2727 28th Rock Island, observed his 80th birthday Oct. 9 by attending the wedding of his granddaughter, Jennifer Lundell, in Kansas City, Kan. Mr. Lundell was born Oct. 13, 1919, in Orion. He married Evelyn Thomas on Dec. 12, 1945, in Trinity Episcopal Church, Rock Island.

There are seven grandchildren. Mr. Crippen was employed for 37 years by International Harvester East Moline, where he was foundry coordinator, retiring in 1982. The former Sandy Lund and Mr. Stephenson, both of Rock Island, were married Sept. 14, 1974, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. Their children are Stacey Carey, Cambridge, and Katie and Marty Stephenson, both of Orion. There are two grandchildren.

The former Lorri Neff and Mr. Lund, both of Rock Island, were married July 20, 1974, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. They have a daughter, Suzi Lund of Andalusia. Mr. Lund is a pipefitter with Plumbers-Pipefitters Local 25, and Mrs.

Lund is a resource teacher at Reynolds Grade School. They belong to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, dell, Arkansas City, and Nancy Roberts, Milan. There are four grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren. Mr.

Lundell was a salesman at Popplewell Motors. He retired from the Rock Island Arsenal after 24 Vi years and worked as a part-time salesman at Learners Sales and Service after retirement. He was in the Army for 42 years, serving in the European Theater for two years. He is a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Moline American Legion, Post 246, Travelers Protective Association, Kiwanis Noon Club and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees. The former Tressie Garrett was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Colona. She was married to Melva "Whick" Franks of Alabama on April 15, 1958, in Alabama. He is deceased.

She was married to Eli Briggs on Sept. 18, 1945. He died in 1983. Mrs. Briggs was employed for 16 years as a clerk at the former Curtis Grocery in New Boston.

She later helped her husband with farming and with their corn shelling business. She is a member of the New Boston Methodist Church. tfSSrd. and Gloria Renner BIRTHDAYS Chester Wexell Chester Richard Wexell, 1008 14th Ave. Orion, will observe his 80th birthday on Oct.

15. He will be honored at a family dinner to celebrate the event. Mr. Wexell was born Oct. 15, 1919.

He married Joan Marie Driessens, Rambo of Orion on March 22, 1997, in Orion. He has a son, Darrell Wexell, Joella Sproston and Phillip Gonzales, both of New Windsor, were married July 24 in the United Methodist Church, Alpha. The Rev. Don Robinson officiated at the 1 p.m. ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Edith V. Holdsworth, Aledo, and the late Wilbur Hold-worth. Mrs. Renner was an Illinois Bell Telephone Co. from 1946 to 1952. She was employed in special education for 20 years by Rock Island School District 41. They are members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Marie Loete, Friendship Manor, 1209 21st Rock Island, formerly of 549 18th Ave.

He died March 1, 1990. Her children and their spouses, who are hosting the event, are Frank J. Jr. and Jo Loete, East Moline, and Genevieve and John Vrombaut, Moline. There are nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Loete has been a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline, for more than 73 years. Angela Marie Pirrera, Bettendorf, became the bride of Dr. David Lewis Scott, Iowa City, on Aug. 7 in St.

John Vianney Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Officiating at the 2 p.m. ceremony was the Rev. Aaron Pirrera. The bride is the daughter of Anthony and Bren-da Pirrera, 4690 Apple Valley Drive, Bettendorf.

Beasley owned and operated the Farmall Tap in the early 1950s and later was co-owner and operator, along with his wife, of the 400 Club in Rock Island. In '11)62 they moved to Andalusia and purchased the Riverview Inn restaurant and tavern, which they operated throughout the flood of 1965. They remodeled and "Operated the business until 1968, when it was sold, and J-jit Beasley began his own Construction Construction in Moline. He closed the company in the early CjSfflls and then freelanfed for Carver Lumber. CKlrs.

Beasley then took a job at the Plantation as a until the mid 1970s leaving for a job at International Harvester. She retired In the early 1990s. She also Qhas an Avon sales lady and sold Home Interiors. The couple belong to the Edgington Presbyterian Honor attendants were Jennifer Pirrera and Jonathan Franklin. He is a surgery resident at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City. 1909, in Orion. He married Helen V. Mills on March 2, 1935, in Rock Island. She died March 10, 1986.

He married Ruth Douglas on Feb. 24, 1987. She died June 27, 1998. His children are Carol A. Lear, Rock Island; David E.

Johnson, Milan, and Virginia H. Behnken, Midland, Texas. His stepdaughters are Dawn Coffin, Springfield, and Cathy Meehan, Milan. There are five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat-grandchildren. He retired in 1974 after 43 years employment at Modern Woodmen of America, Rock Island.
