Burial is in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation is 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mr. Karlovetz died Wednesday at Hammond-Henry Hospital, Geneseo.

He was born July 31, 1915, in Fremont, Ohio. He married Elsie Butzer March 5, 1986, in Atkinson. He retired in 1980 as a truck driver for Burlington Northern Trucking in Chicago and Milan. He was a member of Giant Goose Conservation Club and Izaak Walton League. Oak Lawn Memo- rial Gardens, Gales- Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Rock Island County Humane Society. Mr. Oyler was born Feb. 4, 1897, in Roanoke, Va. He married Elizabeth Bleckschmidt Oct 14, 1930, in Rock Island.

She died in 1967. He retired in 1980 as owner-operator of Como Barber Shop, Rock Island. He was an Army veteran of World War I. He was a member of Barber's Union. He was an avid Rock Island sports fan.

Survivors include a daughter, Carol Morehouse, Milan; three grandchildren; a great-granddaughter, and sisters, LaVonia Dinsmore, Colorado Springs, Verlie Fisher, Anderson, and Nora Hosier and Ellen Likes, Ottawa, Kan. Mrs. Henry was owner-operator of Headquarters Beauty Salon, Betten-dorf, for the past eight years. Survivors include a daughter, Victoria Lee Henry, at home; sons, William, Virginia Beach, and George, with whom she resided; one grandchild; her mother, Pearl Roe, Virginia Beach; sisters, Shirley Vines, Rosaoke, and Jane Hallmark and Joyce Besase, both of Virginia Beach; and a brother, Arthur Thomas Roe, Montgomery, Ala. Kenneth Russell Kenneth "Butch" Burdette Russell, 52, of 519 W. 14th Davenport, died Wednesday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Iowa City. Quaas May 28, 1927, in Waterloo, Iowa. He died in February 1966. Mrs. Quaas retired in 1972 from the city of Rock Island, where she had been a clerk in the water department for 15 years. Prior to and after retirement she had been a receptionist for Dr.

Bill Holmberg, Rock Island. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Moline. Survivors include daughters, Natalie Upp, Moline, Joanne Ogden, Salisbury, Billie Craig, Hutchinson, and Patricia Anderson, Davenport; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Delia Helms, Lamont, Iowa. Jane Anderson Jane M. Anderson, 67, of 2391 29th Moline, died today at Lutheran Hospital, Moline.

12, 1935. He married Ruth Carlson May 30, 1948, in Kewanee. He retired in 1958 as a tool and die maker foreman at Walworth Kewanee, where he had been employed 42 years. He was a member of the church, where he held various offices. He was a Republican precinct committeeman and poll judge.

He was a member of Walworth's Foremen's Club. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Helen Kennaugh, Kewanee; sons, Robert and Glen, Kewanee; a stepdaughter, Donna Bloomer, St. Cloud, a stepson, George Carlson, Morton, 10 grandchildren; several stepgrandchildren; several stepgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Alfred Godke, Kewanee. I fc'1 Lyle Brooks Lyle Brooks, 74, of 713 Buttercup Lane, Prophetstown, died Wednesday at Community General Hospital, Sterling. Services are 1:30 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Prophetstown. Burial is in Riverside Cemetery, Prophetstown. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Friday at Gardner Chapel, Prophetstown; a Masonic service is at 6:30 p.m. A memorial has been established. Mr. Brooks was born Sept 13, 1913, in Mason City, 111. He married Dorothy Arnold Dec.

14, 1940, in Davenport. He had farmed all his life in the Prophetstown area. He was past master of Prophetstown Lodge No. 293, the Moline Consistory, and the Tebala Shrine, Rockford. He was past worthy patron of Minerva Chapter Order of Eastern Star, Prophetstown.

He was a member of the Whiteside County Farm Bureau; a former member of the Whiteside County Board; and a former member of the Prophetstown Community High School Board. He had served as a 4-H leader for 25 years. He was a member of the Illinois Shorthorn Association, and this year was given their Man of the Year Award. Survivors include the widow; a son, Arnold, Prophetstown; two grandchildren; sisters, Mildred Morrow, Winter Haven, and Mary Fur-rer, Springfield, and brothers, Dr. Robert, Normal, 111., and Claire, Campbellsville, Ky.

Clarence O'Hara Clarence "Cap" O'Hara, 72, of Port Byron, died today at home. Arrangements are pending at Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron. Harold Anderson Harold E. Anderson, 80, Kewanee, died Tuesday at Kewanee Convalescent Center. Services are 11 a.m.

Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Kewanee. Burial is in Wethersfield Cemetery, Kewanee. Visitation is 6 to 8 tonight at Cavanagh Schueneman Funeral Home, Kewanee. Memorials may be made to the church.

Mr. Anderson was born Feb. 3, 1907, in Kewanee, where he married Louise M. Kursock April 17, 1929. He retired in 1958 as pressman at Star Courier newspaper, Kewanee, where he had been employed 30 years.

He was a member of the church and had been a Sunday school superintendent, elder and member of the finance board. He was a member of Lions Club; a former Boy Scout Master, and a former Wethersfield School Board member. He was a member of the Dahlia Association and had won several prizes for his flowers. Survivors include the widow; a daughter, Mary Ann Kelly, Davenport; a son, Harold, Cambridge; five grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and a sister, Mildred Whitehouse, Kewanee. He was a member of Broadway Presbyterian Church, Rock Island; Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Moline; Black Hawk Shrine Club; Mohammed Temple, Peoria, Rock Island Lodge 658 National Association of Retired Federal Employees; Moline Eagles 1112; Rock Island Elks 980; Arsenal Retirement Club; and the Putnam Museum. Survivors include two grandchildren, Thomas Anderson and Gayann Kuberski, both of Chicago; sisters, Flossie Martin and Charlotte Laux, both of Rock Island, and Dolly Wind, Coal Valley; and a brother, Albert, Rock Island. Eugene Higgerson Eugene R. Higgerson, 60, Sum-mersville, W.Va., formerly of Rock Island and Cleveland, III, died today at the Charleston, W.Va., Medical Center.

Mr. Batten was born Feb. 27, 1906, in Davenport. He married Ruth Perkins Aug. 16, 1928, in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

He retired in 1979 from the city of Davenport purchasing department, where he had been employed 12 years. He previously was employed as vice president of purchasing at Nichols-Homeshield, Davenport, for 42 years. He was a member of Davenport Lodge 37 Mohassan Grotto, Davenport; Davenport Consistory, Kaaba Temple Shrine; Hi-12; and Quad-City Plus 60 Club. He was past president and national director of Tri-City Purchasing Agents Association and the Davenport Exchange Club. He was a member of the Board of Control Review, Ordnance Weapons Command, Rock Island Arsenal.

Survivors include the widow; daughters, Shirley Cook, Brookfield, and Nancy Seeley, Ellisville, a son, Lloyd Winnipeg, Canada; 10 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and a brother, Arthur, Cleveland, Ohio. RIECKMANN, Esther 83, Dale, 11 a.m. Friday, St Paul Lutheran Church, Dale. Georgia Mann was born March 19, 1898, in Canton, 111. She married La Verne Wainwright in 1924 in Zuma Township. He died in 1985.

She was a member of Rock Island County Home Bureau; Zuma Ladies Aid; and W.S.C.S. of the church. She was a member of the former Zuma Methodist Church, teaching Sunday school for many years. Survivors include daughters, Arlie Klebe, Zion, 111., and Sylvia Sims, Hampshire, sons, Glenn, Hillsdale, Robert, DeWitt, Iowa, and Claire, West Germany, 18 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. made to her church, the Heart Association, or the Moline Vikings Scholarship Fund.

Jane Rosenberg was born Aug. 20, 1920, in Moline, where she married Albert L. Anderson June 16, 1946. She was a member of Clara Lodge No. 118 I.O.V.

and served as chief of the lodge in 1968. Survivors include the widower, a son, Gary, Moline; a daughter, Cheryl Lehew, Manassas, a grandson; sisters, Carol Spiegel, Marilyn Rosenberg, and Beatrice Rosenberg, all of Moline, and Joyce Strutz, Rock Island. Wanda Ishmael Wanda G. Stacy Ishmael, 69, of 3333 45th Moline, died today at home. Visitation is 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

McDowell was born Oct. 7, 1907, in Alpha. He married Dorothy Stickle July 1, 1935, in Galesburg. He retired in 1973 as Oxford Township road commissioner, a position he had held for 10 years. He previously had worked at John Deere Harvester, East Moline, and at one time worked in the Alpha Coal Mine.

He was a member of the church. Survivors include the widow; daughters, Ruby Graves, Oneida, and Martha Johnson, Altona; sons, Don, Wood-hull, and John Robert, Phoenix, 11 grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; sisters, Merle Johnson, Alpha, and Catherine Ties-man, Scottsdale, and brothers, Quentin, Scottsdale, and Russell, Hospital. He was born Oct. 9, 1896, in Rock Island, where he married Charlotte Huesing June 10, 1927. She died in 1969.

Dr. Helpenstell retired in 1980 as a dentist in Rock Island after more than 50 years. He graduated from the University of Iowa Dental School in 1923. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as chief clinician at Camp Crowder, with the rank of lieutenant colonel. He was a life member of the church and past president of the church council.

He was past president of Rock Island District Dental Society and had been on the executive council of the Illinois State Dental Society. He was a member of the State of Illinois Dental Association and the American Dental Association. He was a former member of the Reserve Officers Association and a former director of Rock Islaad YMCA and the Rock Island Savings and Loan Association.
