If you go for straight oi'i rock 'n' roll, you'll love this new album, because that's whnt it's all about. 'Hound Dog," "LiicilV "Mr. Bass Man" are three classics that are includod and they bring back a lot of memories. "Do the Dangle" and Roller Skate Kate" arc two by John and the lyrics had ine rolling on the floor. "Made iii Japan" and "My Wife" are (wo more by John and I liked I hem best of all.

For country and western fans of any age, United Artists has released Asleep at the Wheel's "Comin' Right At Ya." It's a nearly flawless piece of vinyl with some hot pickin'. Straight country and western is Asleep at the Wheel's bag and it's unbelievable that a group so young can be so talented, 'ihey sound like they've been around for years.

"Space "Take Me Back To Tulsa," "Cherokee Boogie," "Daddy's Advice" and "Hillbilly Nut" are some of the better cuts. All I can say is, play on. "Lou Reed and the Velvet Underground" is the title of a new LP on Pride records and it's a collection of the band's well known songs. Now the band has broken up, but with Lou starting to gain popularity as a solo artist, the record company probably figured it was high lime to cash in on the hits of ihe "Underground" A Name i You Know. John Siomos is his able replacement and Frank Carillo again appears on guitar, too. "Do You Feel Like We Do." 'White Sugar" and "I Cot My Eyes on You" have already become favorites and they're real rockers, with souv fireworks by everyone. "Don't Fade Away" and Just the i of the a are softer. Peter's lyrics, music and vitals mark him as one of the cost and most sensitive nnjsifinns around. Nice and mellow.

Ned Dohcnv is a new artist on Asylum label and his debut effort is as good as any I've heard. Better than Ned's been associated with people like Jackson Browne. Mason and Cass Elliott, and it shows because he gets into a lot of different musical things. All of the songs, guitar work and all of the vocals except one are by Ned, and his mellow, jazzy feel conies off very well. "Fineline" is the opening cut and after listening to it.

all 1 can say is "Wow." His vocal and guitar work a exceptional. "On and On" features the only other vocalist, who happens to be Graham Nash. R's got some nice lyrics, and, of course, the vocals are great. "Lashambcaux" is a fantastic cut and I think it's the best on the album. The vocals and the brass arrangement at the end just knock me 'SA.
