The World Of Music Hot New Singles By Creedence And Who ii. ii. riM i i hasn't done a thing that could A ever come close to touching this. It's really something. "You Don't Love Me" and "Whipping Post" are on sides two and four and they're 'cookin' numbers about 42 minutes all totaled.

these cats are just something else and the money spent on the two records is well worth the vibes you're going to get from "The Allman Brothers Band at Fillmore East." "Blood, Sweat Tears 4" nut on Columbia and it's safe to sav that this will be just CREEDENCE CLEARWATER A single headed for the top wun me axe. me mass sounus really good on this one, too. There are only two numbers that came from outside "Take Me in Your Arms (Rock Me A Little While)," by the Isley Brothers, is the better of the two. Thomas gets down and belts it out, while Steve Katz and the soloist on the horn (whoever it is) get jn some good licks. Katz' guitar work is really nice.

Two of Steve's compositions grab me as two of the songs on me LP. "High on a Mountain" is a very brassy thing, not slow or fast, but just right. "For My Lady" is a soft numbjr filled with woodwind. and nice easy vibes. David handles of the vocals wed in fact, they're excellent.

r.1vo takes the vocal on his Iv o'hfei' song and I think it's the best of the album. It's called "Valentine's Day" and it's beautiful The piano and organ add a lot to it and his vocal is very emotional. "Cowboys and Indians," "Redemption," "Lisa. Listen Jo Me" and "Mama Gets High arc some of the other cuts. By DINK LORANCE Two singles I've listened to this last week are sure to be big hits and both undoubtedly will be included in each of the groups' next albums.

"Sweet Hitch Hiker'! (on Fantasy label) is the new John Fogerty tune for Creedence Clearwater Revival and it's a good rock number that should take them right up to the top of the charts. "Door to Door" is the Hip side and it was written by Stu Cook, bass player for the threesome. He's also lead vocalist in the number. It's real good and we should be hearing more from Stu and Doug Clifford, the third member of Creedence. They're both writing and producing along with Fogerty, and CCR's next LP should be quite interesting.

"Won't Get Fooled Again" (Deeca) is The Who's long -awaited number, following "See Me, Feel Me." It's just as hard another raucous rocker from Pete Townscnd. Daltry's vocal is something else. The flip side is another Town-send composition "1 Don't Even Know Myself." It's a different tempo and at times almost sounds country but other as big as any of their LPs. The nine man band still has the tremendous brass arrange- TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTYVTY it's not quite out of the rock bag. They have an LP called "The Who's Next," which should be out this month or early in August.

And they'll be giv'tig a concert in Chicago the middle of August. Look for them! The Allman Brothers Band has a new double LP set on Capricorn label called "The Allman Brothers Band a Fillmore East." Anybody who doesn't get this album, or at least listen to it, is missing a gooj tiling. This seven man outfit is tight and every groove from beg'nning to end is just fantastic. And that's put ins it mildly. Side one has the blues cu's of the record and they've got some of Duane's slide guitar.

"Statesboro Blues" leads things off and it's excellent. Elmore James' "Done Somebody Wrong" is given the Allman treatment and it turned out quite well. The slide guitar work is really good. ''Stormy Monday," a T. Bone Walker number, is the last cut and is slow and very "In Memory of Eli.ibcth Reed, an instrumental from their second LI by Dicky 1 1 is on side three and is 12 minutes and 4fi seconds of excitement.

This shows off the group inslrimientally and their talent really shines. It's a rhythm thing you could see Sa'itana doing, hut Santana ments it's so noted for, and the David Clayton Thomas vocals mq still just as gutsy and grea "Go Down Gamblin' is the first cut on the album. Herb And Tiiuana Brass In 'Summer' LP Another big sound, ace to this ear, is "Catch A l-'aMini; Star," a most soothing effort. By TOM BERGSTRAM) Dispatch Writer Herb Alpert has come through with another great a I which is like saying Rembrandt, has painted another beau ifi picture. All of Herb Alport's s'uff good and he and his Tijuana Brass now have "Summertime," just out on the label. Producing a peppy, excitin sound, this super trumpet player puts together a collection of different brass wind vibrations and, backed by the talented group in the Tijuana Brass, comes up with another exciting album.

0 of the delightful cuts is "Montezuma's Revenge," which has the unmistakable lone of marimbas to complement Alport's unmistakable trumpet. uncle are putting out versions () said selection. Vikki has a couple of other lop cuts on this album in "For All We Know," "One Less Beil To Answer," "I'll Be Home'' and "If You Could Read My Mind." The third singer mentioned is that little Hush, Hush Sweet Charlotte gal herself, Patti Page, in Mercury's new album, i'd Rather Be Sorry." The world's all-time, best-selling female vocalist, having sold more than 60 million records, has a a comeback with this disc, which includes such cuts as the album title song, "Dream Baby," "Make Me Your Kind Of Woman," "Words," and "Help Me Make It Through The Night."
