I xrkl Oldsmar CARDO, THE REV. J. JERRY, 88, of Oldsmar, died Wednesday (Nov. 18, 1998) at Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor. He was born in Jersey City, N.J., came to Fort Myers in 1975, and moved here in 1983 from Fort Myers.

He retired as a Presbyterian minister, and in New York he was a band leader and dress manufacturer. Locally he played mandolin in several Italian restaurants. In Fort Myers he was district chaplain of the Lions Club, president of the Italian American Club of Lehigh Acres and the AARP, area counselor of Fort Myers and Lee County Congregate Meals. He was a Mason, a member of On Top of the World Shrine Club and past president and district chaplain of the On Top of the World Lions Club, Clearwater Egypt Shrine Temple, Tampa. In New York, he was a past president, lieutenant governor and chaplain for the Optimist Club, treasurer of the Sons of Italy, district chaplain of the Lions Club, chaplain of Rockland County Prison for 11 years, and senior mental health coordinator for a social rehabilitation center.

Survivors include a daughter, Angela Hayes, Oldsmar; two sons, Charles, Tampa, and Frank, Archdale, N.C.; a brother, Angelo Ca-copardo, Long Island, N.Y.; his caregiver for 14 years, Olga H. Gwizd, Oldsmar; and eight grandchildren. Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, Clearwater SHOUP, DONNA, 40, of New Port Richey, formerly of Clearwater, died Monday (Nov. 16, 1998) at home. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Menard; two sons, Menard Hawthorn Woods, 111., and Dennis, Midland, four sisters, Anne Witt and Elizabeth Zmin-kowski, both of Chicago, Bertha To-maska, Morton Grove, 111., and Jean Platek, Grays Lake, and four grandchildren. MILLER On Sunday, November 15, 1998, God came and carried Kelly Elizabeth Miller in His arms to a place where she would finally be free from the indignities of Huntington's Disease. Kelly, who was 30 years old, had suffered from Huntington's since her mid-teens. She had been under the loving care of her mother and Hospice of the Florida Suncoast Bronze Team for the past several years and died ever so peacefully in her sleep.

Kelly was bom in St. Louis, and moved to Clearwater in 1976. She is survived by her mother, Jean E. Miller of Clearwater, father, Larry Miller, half-brothers, Larry and Scott Miller, paternal grandmother, Helen Myers, aunt, Kelly Taylor, all of St. Louis, aunt, Teresa and Chris Mickiewicz and niece, Marina of Indian Rocks Beach, uncle, George and Judi Steffens of Tampa, and Godmother, Janis Beal of Palm Harbor.

She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents, George and Jean Steffens. Kelly is also remembered lovingly by her dearest friends, Jo Brewer, Ned Cook, Betty Held, Grace Candiamo and the Scerbo family, who stayed by her side throughout this disease and many caring great aunts, uncles and nieces in Long Island and St. Louis. She is also remembered by all the caring people of Hunt-Dis, a worldwide on-line group of people affected by Huntington's. Some of the courage that Kelly displayed and a few of her poems are contained in "Faces Of by Carmen Leal-Pock.

Kelly wanted everyone to know that she "Loved this and Clearwater Recently the mechanical engineering students at USF had built the a special gurney to take Kelly to the beach. Unfortunately she only was able to make one trip this past September. Kelly had an abundance of love for everyone and a deep compassion for those in life who suffered. He was a computer analyst and a Navy veteran. Tarpon Springs HENSEL, HAZEL 86, of Canton, Ohio, a winter resident of Tarpon Springs, died Wednesday (Nov. 18, 1998) at Harborside Healthcare, Palm Harbor. She was born in Navarre, Ohio, and had been a winter resident since 1980 from Canton. She was a homemaker, She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the 11th Street Church of God, both of Canton, the AARP and a 50-year member of the Girl Scouts of America. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, a Methodist, and a member of the American Legion. Mary's Catholic Church, Sandusky, Ohio. They came here after he retired as chief of the Ohio State Accounting Group. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. She is a homemaker. They are members of St.

The Eckerds' group, a not-for-profit organization, provides day treatment and residential services to emotionally disturbed and at-risk youths between the ages of 8 and 18 and operates Wilderness Educational, Juvenile Justice, Early Intervention and Aftercare programs serving more than 5,000 youths annually. Stephen Colbert, Charles Monte Gibson and Kevin O'Connor, a team of paramedics from the Clearwater Fire Department, received the 22nd annual Turner Award for Excellence as Emergency Medical Employees on Thursday at a program held at Regency Oaks. The ceremony was attended by several city officials and Freda Turner, widow of Thomas R. Turner, who established the award. The award recognizes achievement in the categories of dedication, enthusiasm, skills in life-saving procedures, efficiency and accuracy in following physician orders, team compassion and understanding of patients, responsibility, initiative and anticipation of all phases of emergency care, public relations, education in the community and participation in continuing education programs.

Eckerds honored for work with youths Jack and Ruth Eckerd of Clearwater were recently honored with a board leadership award by the Child Welfare League of America. They were nominated for their service through Eckerd Youth Alternatives and represented the tnn i Marion and Okley Picklesimer Marion and Okley Picklesimer of Clearwater celebrated their 50th anniversary at a dinner party given by their children for friends and family. They were married Oct. 18, 1948, in Pontiac, and came here in 1993 from there. He retired in 1978 as a supervisor after 32 years with General Motors Truck and Bus Assembly.

She is a homemaker. They attend Clearwater Community Church of Palm Harbor. They have two daughters, four grandsons and two greatgrandchildren.
