The suspended ceiling of the Saves Lives Of 3 Men LAKEPORT, Mich. (AP) A Lakeport man was credited with saving the lives of three of his friends who were knocked unconscious in Lake Huron Thursday by an electrical shock from a boat hoist. All three were revived by Donald Letts, 44, who last year was credited with saving the life of a little girl cut by tie propeller on a motor boat. "He saved their lives, they couldn't have made it without him" a sherffs deputy said. Letts told St.

Clair County sheriff's deputies he stood on the shore with three other men Thursday afternoon, watching one of them push a boat hoist into the water. Kenneth Mapley, 29. of Lexington Heights in Sanilac County, was knocked into the water by an electrical shock from the hoist and two of the men waded into the lake to save him. They were shocked and knocked down too. Letts told deputies.

Letts said he started into the water, felt the tingle of electricity returned to shore and cut the power on the boat hoist line. He dragged the men from the water and revived them with mouth-to-mouth rescusitation. Will Bury Babies Found In Garage DETROIT (AP) Three long-dead infants whose bodies were discovered this week in a northwest Detroit garage belonging to a now-deceased funeral director will be buried by the Michigan Funeral Directors Association. "A mistake has been made, obviously, and as a profession we would like to do whatever we can to rectify it," the director of the association's Wayne County district said Thursday. Authorities said one of the babies had been dead since 1960 and a third since 1963.

Red Light is one of the feature attractions. The indirect lighting glows gold at night and is white during the day. Smugglers Rip Uncle Sam WASHINGTON (AP) Smugglers are ripping off Uncle Sam to the tune of millions of dollars worth of contraband military surplus. Sen.

Abraham Ribicoff has concluded after three days of Senate hearings. The Connecticut Democrat demanded Thursday that the government tighten controls over surplus military goods intended to be sold or given to friendly nations or to be scrapped. "The American government has abdicated its duty to guard and dispose of its own surplus property," Ribicoff said. "It is one of the most disgraceful derelictions of duty in the postwar period." Ribicoff blamed lax enforcement for the recent theft of 34 one-ton Nike Ajax antiaircraft rockets from a U.S. surplus depot in West Germany.

added, "Wholesale lots of weapons and their component parts have been smuggled out of American war-surplus depots in working condition." League Of Women Voters Plan Candidate's Fair A old-fashioned political parade and candidates' fair sponsored by the League of Women Voters will be held in Sault Ste. Marie on August 30, beginning at 7 p.m. The fair will be held on the grounds of the Armory if the weather permits or inside the building in case of rain. The parade will form at the District Court old Washington school and will go down Ashmun street to Portage and then east on Portage to the Armory. Participating will be the Sault Area high school band, the Soo Tour train transporting the candidates, antique cars carrying League members, square dancers and a float entered by the local Democrat party.

At the fair each party will provide booths for its candidates and each candidate will have the opportunity to present a three minute speech in addition to personal interviews with the public. The League will present an opportunity to register for the November election. Admission is free and refreshments will available. Henry Keranen and Mr. and Koski of Detroit were recent visitors at the home of their sister and sister-in-law Mrs. Eileene Haapala. They also visited in Rudyard and at Isle Royale. Mr.

and Mrs. Martin Harju Sr. attended the convention in Marquette over the weekend. Minnie McAlpine, who has been at St. Luke's Hospital in Marquette, has returned to her home after having been hospitalized for two weeks.

Dear Ann Landers: You have printed many letters in your column from the Other Woman. Why is it that you have never published a letter from the Other Man? Surely you know he exists. I'd like to address a few remarks to the gentleman. Dear Sir: Do you think I am so stupid that I don't know about you? Or the man my wife has selected to follow you? True, I have never confronted her with the evidence. I have managed to be pleasant when we meet, but I am very much aware of your presence.

You will be relieved to know I am not angry, upset or potentially dangerous. I accept you, as I have accepted the others. I have also stopped blaming myself. I realize now that my wife's insatiable sexual appetite is an illness and no reflection on my manhood. She's a good mother and except for her nymphomania she's a good wife.

A sweeter and more generous person never lived. She's more considerate of my mother than my sisters. Everyone loves her. I needn't sign my initials. You know who I am.

I just wanted you to know that I know who you are, too. Thanks for the forum, Ann Landers. Her Husband Dear Husband: Just when I think I've heard everything I get a letter like yours. As my grandmother used to say, "There's somebody for everybody." MeanwhUe, on the Other Woman Dear Ann Landers: Too long, the cheating husband has been getting away with murder telling lies at home and lying to his mistress as well. "My wife won't give me a divorce please be patient, etc." This letter is to the Other Woman who signed herself, "Sorry You Saw Him First." Dear Woman: I'm sorry you didn't see him first, too.

When you wrote to me through Ann Landers' column you pleaded with me to let my- husband go so you two could have a great life together. If I knew who you were, I'd gift-wrap the jerk and send him special delivery. Since I don't know who you are and you know who I am will you please insist that he brings you to see me? I want to repeat this offer in his presence. Believe me, I'd welcome you with open arms. I'd make coffee.

We could have an honest conversation, and insist that he choose between us. And so help me, I hope he chooses you because I've Had It Dear Had It: Here's your letter and it's a lulu. No doubt I will be considered an unspeakable traitor by cheating husbands everywhere, but I think you've hit on a neat solution. (The score is now Christians 10, Lions Dear Ann Landers: Nine years ago I married a G.I. who was stationed at a nearby base.

It was a terrible mistake. I was too young. We were divorced two years later when our baby was only five weeks old. Six years have passed and I am now married to a wonderful man. He is the only father Lisa has ever known.

Following the advice in your column, we told Lisa that this daddy adopted her. She keeps asking if she can see her real daddy one day. We don't know what to tell her. He has never sent the child so much as a greeting card since he left. We will be within 50 miles of his home this summer when we take a camping trip.

Shall we contact him and arrange for Lisa to see her real daddy? Waco Mother Dear Waco: The less said about him the better. His lack of interest speaks volumes. Is alcoholism ruining your life? Know the danger signals and what to do. Read the booklet, "Alcoholism Hope And Help," by Ann Landers. Enclose 35 cents in coin with your request and a long, stamped, self- addressed envelope to this newspaper.
