Deaffis Mrs. Charles F. Handley Mrs. Sarah Poole Hempstone Handley, near Waliersville, died at her home Thursday night at 9.30 o'clock after a protracted illness of carcinoma. Aged 67 years, 10 months and 10 days, she was a daughter of the late Vernon and Sarah E.

Poole Hempstone of Poolesville, Montgomery county. She is survived by her husband, Charles F. Handley. and 'the following children: Charles M. Hand-ley, William A.

Hand-ley, Walkersville; Mrs. Florence Carter, "Utah; Robert W. Hand-ley, Walkersville; and Mrs. Cecil Hale, Washington, and one brother, Robert Whitney Hempstone, of Poolesville; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, besides a number of nieces and nephews. The deceased was a graduate of Briarley Hall Female Seminary of Poolesville and a teacher of music for a number of years.

She was a member of the Methodist church and was beloved by a large circle of friends. The body is resting at the funeral home, 8 East Patrick street, where friends may call after nine o'clock Saturday which will be held there at o'clock the same day. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery- CE. Cline and Son, funeral direc tors. Benjamin Newell Duvall Word has been received by rel atives here of the sudden death in Richmond, on Christmas day of Benjamin Newell Duvall, aged about d0, and a native of Bruns wick.

He was a son of Benjamin and Laura Dutrow Duvall, both deceased, and former Brunswick residents. For some years, Mr. vail was Richmond Branch manager of Esskay Products Co. He leaves three sisters, and his wife and one son and two daughtei the son being in the armed in the Pacific, and who is flying home to attend the funeral which will be held from the late home. 7217 Hermitage Road, Richmond, on Saturday.

Mrs. John H. Linton Mrs. Florence Rebecca Linton, wife of John H. Linton, near Yel low Springs, died at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr.

and Mrs. Martin L. Linton, near Mt. Pleasant, this morning at 7.25 o'clock after an illness of four weeks, aged 80 years. She was a daughter of the late Mr.

and Mrs. Adam Ford. Besides husband, she is survived by. the following children: Mrs. William Specht, this city; Mrs.

Utah Fultz and Mrs. Keefer Rice, both of Mountaindale; Oscar- Yellow Springs; George Ellicott City, and Martin L. Linton. Twenty-two grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren also survive. She was the last member of her immediate family.

Eccard, died Thursday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Scott Garner, Westminster, after a brief illness, aged 70 years. Mrs. Eccard was a former resident of the Ijamsville vicinity and a daughter of the late John Calvin and Sarah Main. She is survived by two children: Roy Eccard and Mrs.

She was a daughter of the late George and" Martha Owings, of Carroll County, and was aged 49 years, months, and 15 days.

Evelyn Bixler. all of near Westminster; Mrs. May Thomas. Westminster; Mrs. Gladys Kessel-ring, Hanover, Pa.

and Mrs. Birdie Ecker, New Windsor. Funeral servicps will be conducted Sunday afternoon, meeting at thi late residence at 1:30 o'clock, with final rites in Deer Park Methodist church at 2 o'clock. Rev. Dr.

John N. Link, assisted by Rev. Bailey Phelps, will officiate. Interment in church cemetery. C.

Washington, former resident of Frederick, died Thursday morning at 3 o'clock at a Washington hospital where he recently had undergone an operation for acute appendicitis. The funeral will be conducted from the late residence on Saturday aft- I ernoon at 3:30 o'clock with inter ment in Washington. Mr. Wolfe has a number of relatives in this city and vicinity. Mrs.

Robert L. Baer Mrs. Ida May Baer. wife of the late Robert L. Baer, a resident of Frederick for the past 50 years died at the Frederick City Hospital Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock of pneumonia after an illness of fouri days, aged 76 years, 8 months and I 2S days.

Mrs. Baer was the daughter of the late Evon and Annie Colehorse Trail of Frederick County. She is survived by one daughter. Miss Nellie May Baer at home and one grandson, Robert Bazzell of Carroll County, besides a number of nieces and nephews. Also surviving are two brothers, Charles Trail cf Knoxville and Henson Trail of Buckeystown.

Mrs. Baer was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church, but had been prevented from participating in its services for some years on account of ill health. The body rests at the funeral home, 8 East Patrick street whore friends may call after 6 p. m. today until time of service which will be held there Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock.

Interment will be made in Mt. Olivet cemetery. C. E. Cline and Son, funeral directors.

Raymond O. Young Raymond Oscar Young, retired farmer, died at his home in Union-1 and one day. His wife, Mrs. Nora E. Young, pre-deceased him by eighteen months.

Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Laura E. West, Frederick; Merton O. Young, Liberty-town; Paul E. Young, Unionville; William O.

Young, U. S. Army in Japan, and Mrs. Dorothy Snoots, at home; also six grandchildren and three sisters: Mrs. Grace Smith, Hanover, Mrs.

Carrie Smith, LeGore, and Mrs. Gertie Keeney, Frederick. The funeral will be held Saturday afternoon, meeting at the late home at 1:30 o'clock with further services at Rocky Hill church at 2 o'clock. Rev. H.

H. Schmidt will officiate. Interment in the adjoining cemetery. D. D.

Laura Lorentz Winebrenner, who died at the Home for the Aged at 115 Record street early Christmas morning, took place Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
