-3sl GROUP 6F GA PtS Dunedin wins 50th game of season CLEARWATER Ray Giannelli went 3-for-4 with three RBI as Dunedin beat Clearwater 5-4 Monday night to become the third Florida State League team to win 50 games in a half season. The Blue Jays (50-13), who own the best record in professional baseball this season, join the 1966 Leesburg A's (50-14) and the 1958 St Petersburg Saints (52-19) as the FSL's lone 50-game win-ners in a half season. If they win three of their last four games, the Blue Jays will set an FSL record for best winning percentage over half a season. The '66 Leesburg club had a .790 mark. Vince Horsman (3-3) was the winner, with Mike Timlin picking up his 16th save.

In other games: At St. Petersburg, Tim Redman and Antron Grier had two RBI apiece as the Cardinals stopped the Charlotte Rangers, 6-3. At Lakeland, Mark Cole drove in two runs, giving the Tigers a 4-3 win over Baseball City. Gastineau may play in CFL EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. The New York Jets' Mark Gastineau chapter has come to a surprisingly quiet conclusion. And now he is expected to embark on a career with the CFL's British Columbia Lions.

The 10-day waiver period on the former Sack Dancer ended Monday, with no NFL team biting at the two years and $1.6 million left on the contract Gastineau walked out on in 1988. Gastineau, 33, had petitioned the NFL for reinstatement to the Jets. But team president Steve Gutman, who has until today to recall Gastineau, said he has "no interest whatsoever in Gastineau" and placed him on waivers. Gastineau joined the board of directors of the company that owns the B.C. Lions last year, when he and ex-girlfriend Brigitte Nielsen temporarily moved to Vancouver.
