Washington, Nov. 27, 1S51. Caucus Compromise People and the The Speakership fe. The compromise resolutions alluded to in my last two letters find universal favor with the democratic members, and there is reason to suppose the Ution Whigs thtmselves will, on that platform, come into the democratic caucus. I know the Union members from Miasissppi will and so will those of Alabama and Georgia.

The resolutions will simply declare that the series 01 measures passed at ihe 31st Coiiirresa, commonh called the Compromise measures, shall be regard ed as a final settlement, and at such be cheerfull acquiesced in. Editors: In your paper, of the 25th instant, it was said that I had received from Louis ssath, Governor of Hungary, a letter, written by his own hand, in which he is giving his thanks for the services I had rendered to him, and which I had presented Irsc Saturday to the committee for the recep ion of Kossuth. This is a misconception; as I have never received from Kossuth any letter tnis kind. The papers I have presented to his Honor the Mayor and to the committee, were those of my manuscript, which shall be published in a short time, and which' treats on the subject of the intended assassination of Kossuth in Schuml-i, by the Government of Austria. Meanwhile, that Providence Iirs opened to me the way ot gaining the favor of Kossuth, not expecting any thanks for what has been my duty, I lay before you, for brevity-sake, one of my testimonials: "London, Dec. 17, 1S50.

In addition to my letter of yesterday I would yet make the following statement: 1. That the compromise resolutions about to be offered produce ooniderable squirming among the Secessionists and Freeilera.

2 That notwithstanding the squirming and nausea they produce, they will be mail owed by all who have a future. Similar resolutions will be introduced ra the Senate, and, no doubt, passed. Congress will establish peace and quiet throughout the land. Should there beany difficulty in caucus on account of the resolutions, a Union party will at once be organized. The conquerors in the Union fight, aainst disunion, have no idea that the vanquished shall nlay the victors.
