Caic.oo. Jane 29, 1 977. I notice la your issue of to day an article en titled "Almost a Scene." In this, great lnjustioe has been done me by your reporter, who has either drawn upon his imagination or been greatly Imposed upon by parties who are Interested in misrepresenting the tbe real facts, and who were evidently seeking a little notoriety favorable to themselves at my expense. In my discussion of the evidence In the case of thcJPeopie vs. Louis Koch.

It became mi duty to severely criticise the testimony and conduct of Mr. H. A. Kohn. tbe prosecuting witness, as I felt perfectly justified by tbe evidence in doing.

I also felt justified in criticising th conduct of Mr. Mills, tb prosecuting attorney, in tbe mean which he had adopted to se cure a conviction. This was not only my right. but my duty to do. disclaiming, at tb same time, any desire to Indulge in personalities.

But Mr. Mills, taking advantage of the closinir anrument. to which I had no chance to reply, instead cf discussing the ease. Indulged in a tirade of personal abuse, which was so vindictive and malicious in its character that I felt eonsi rained to anneal to the court. I did not call Mr.

The experiments were made by A. A. Lambert. P. Professor at uhemistrv and Natural Sci ence ia St.

After giving a short account of tbe different ingredients necessary to be present to eause an explosion or produce aflame, tbe Professor explained the construction ot a number of stoves ot different patterns, and showed that with tbe poor oil comniouly used there was great danger in using them. He then proceeded to a practical test, some eight or ten stoves, all of whi are to be found ia this market, being tried. With one exception all of these were either exploded or set on Or, and the Professor characterized tbem as "infernal machines." The honoraole exception, which could neither be exploded nor set on tire, was the Adams A Westlake Wire Ganz Non explosive Stove. 1 his was subjected to the severest tests, but nb means sufficed to produce an explosion or a blaze.

These medicines have undoubtedly performed more cures of con sumption than any other remedy known to the American public They are compounded of reg etable ingredients, and contain nothing which can be Injurious to the human constitution. Other remedies advertised as cures for consumption probably contain opium, which Is a somewhat dangerous drug ia all cases, and if taken freely by consumptive patients, it must do great injury; for Its tendency is to confine the morbid matter in the system, which, ot course, must make a cure impossible.

Schenck's Pulmonic 8irup is warranted not to contain a particle of opium: it ia composed of powerful but harmless herbs, which act on the lungs, liver, stomach, and blood. and thus correct all morbid secretions, and expel all the diseased matter from the body. These are the only means by which consumption can be cured, and as Schenck's Pulmonic Sirup, Seaweed Tonic, and Mandrake are the only medicines which operate ia this way. it ia ob vious they are tbe only genuine cure for pul monary consumption. Each bottle of this invaluable medicine is accompanied by full directions Dr.
