According to police reports, the victim was abducted from her vehicle about 4 a.m. Sunday on Wheeler Road. Death called overdose RUSKIN An 18-year-old man was discovered dead Monday morning by his mother after what appears to have been an accidental overdose of medications prescribed for drug abuse. David Wade Hedlund of 3434 Shell Point Road was pronounced dead at 7:27 a.m. at Sun City Hospital, according to the Sheriff's Office. 'His mother Jean told the Sheriff's Office her son couldn't remember how much medication he'd taken and went to sleep at 2 Monday morning. Hedlund had moved from his father's home i in Minnesota and was a student at East Bay High School, his mother told the Sheriff's Office.

The Sheriff's Office has not determined what drugs were prescribed or how much of the chemicals were in his body. The case has been turned over to the Medical Examiner's Office, according to Lt. S.R. Keystone civic activist Jim Miller has joined two other Democratic contenders for a District 6 Hillsborough County Commission seat.

Miller, 56, joined Tampa City Council Chairman Tom Vann and county sheriff's Deputy Gary Hogsten in a campaign for Commissioner Pick Talley's at-large commission seat. Talley announced in the fall that he won't seek re-election in November. Miller, president of the Council of Northwest Civic Associations representing 44 civic and homeowner groups, said he decided to run because his name kept cropping up in discussions about candidates. Miller lives in Commissioner Pam Iorio's district, and Iorio is also up for election this year. Miller said he saw no point in running against her.
