Friday in Graceland Cemetery with the Rev. A.T Washington officiating. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today in Larkin Northside Funeral Home. Mr.

Reyes was born Dec. 2, 1967, in Beaumont, Texas. He came to Sioux City in 1978 and attended North High School. He was employed at Triland Foods Inc. at the time of his death.

Survivors include his father, Robert Reyes Sr. of Beaumont, Texas; two brothers, Christopher of Sergeant Bluff and Francisco Garcia Jr. of Mexico; two sisters, Debra Hernandez of South Sioux City and Laura Ramirez of Sioux City; paternal grandmother, Cora Reyes of Beaumont, Texas, and companion, Cara Luesebrink of Sioux City. Robert Reyes Jr. Melissa Kay Rodeen Melissa Kay Rodeen, 28, of Colorado Springs, and formerly of Sioux City, died Oct.

27, 1989, in Colorado Springs after a long illness. A memorial service was held at First Lutheran Church in Springs. The burial was private. Ms. Rodeen was born Nov.

8, 1960, in Orlando, daughter of Jim and Connie (Cole) Rodeen. She had lived in Sioux City in 1968-1970 attended Sunnyside Elementary School. She graduated from high school in Highland Park, Ill. She attended Pikes Peak Community College and the University of Colorado in Colorado as well as the University of Colorado in Boulder. Survivors include her parents; two brothers, Jeffry T.

of Vail, and AREA OBITUARIES Kenneth N. Ash LYONS, Neb. Kenneth N. Ash, 76, of Lyons died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1989, in a hospital in Omaha.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Memorial Methodist. Church of Lyons with the Rev. Bill Martin officiating. Burial will be in Lyons Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. today in Piper Funeral Home in Lyons. Mr. Ash was born Dec.

2, 1912, in Decatur. He attended grade school in Decatur, also rural Schultz and Lyons High School. He married Vera Southwell April 18, 1931, in Dakota City. He farmed for awhile and then worked for Buckley Lumber in Lyons. He worked for a number of years as a butter maker for the Lyons Creamery and later served as manager.

He retired in 1981. Mr. Ash was a member of Masonic Lodge 240 Survivors include his wife; a son, Ken W. and his wife, Donna of Omaha; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandMissouri children; three Valley, brothers, Iowa, Charles Norman of Flint, and Edwin of Ukiah, and one sister, Sally Hendrickson of Lyons. Mrs.

Elsie Bedwell CALUMET, Iowa Mrs. Elsie Bedwell, 83, of Calumet died Wednesday in a nursing home in Sutherland. will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in St. John's United Church of Christ, rural Peterson with burial in the church cemetery.

Baumgarten Funeral Home of Sutherland is in charge of arrangements. Leonard L. Christie MAPLETON, Iowa Leonard L. Christie, 69, of Burbank, and formerly of Mapleton, died Saturday in a hospital in Burbank. Services will be at 1:30 p.m.

Friday in the Walter Funeral Home in Jarry J. of Chicago; two grandmothers, Mary C. Rodeen and Ruth C. Cole, both of Sioux City. Memorials have been established in her name with First Lutheran Church, 1515 N.

Stroup Madge W. Stroup, 90, 3633 Dupont died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1989, at her residence after a long illness. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in St.

Michael's Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerome P. Cosgrove officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m.

today with the rosary recited by the parish at 7 p.m. in Larkin Northside Funeral Home. Mrs. Stroup, the former Madge W. Collins, was born June 6, 1899, in Sioux City and was a lifelong resident.

She married Charles J. Stroup June 1917, in Sioux City. He died Oct. 16, 1971, 1 in Sioux City. She was a member of St.

Michael's. Catholic Church. Survivors include three sons, Charles Vincent and Richard Stillman Stroup, both of Phoenix, and Joseph Girard Stroup of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and four She was preceded by a daughter, Virginia Blankenship. Lonnie D. Carter Lonnie D.

Carter, 88, 3000 E. Ninth died Monday, Nov. 13, 1989, after a brief illness. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel with the Rev.

George Boykin, assistant pastor of Malone AME Church and the Rev. H.C. McGruder, pastor of Mt. Olive Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today with the family present from 7-9 p.m. in the funeral Mr. Carter was born April 28, 1901, in Sioux City where he grew up. He morning prior to service time at the funeral home.

Roy Jensen SCHLESWIG, Iowa Roy Jensen, 79, of Schleswig died Tuesday his home in Schleswig. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the United Church of Christ in Schleswig burial in Morgan Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today in Huebner Funeral Home in Schleswig.

Alice Meendering INWOOD, Iowa Alice Meendering, 87, of Inwood died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 1989, in a hospital in Rock Valley. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the Christian Reformed Church in Inwood with the Rev. William Moxey officiating.

Burial will be in Richland Cemetery. Visitation will be all day Friday with the family present from 7-8 p.m. in Porter Funeral Home at Inwood. Mrs. Meendering, the former Alice Luinstra, was born May 12, 1902, in Hull.

She married Peter Meendering Jan. 12, 1923, in Sioux Center. The couple farmed in the Sioux Center area until moving to the Inwood area in 1940. They retired and moved into Inwood in 1952. Mr.

Meendering died Nov. 7, 1970. She moved to Manor Nursing Home in Rock Valley in 1983. Survivors include two sons, Jake of Inwood and Elmer of Ontario, two daughters, Mrs. Archie (Gertrude) Statema of Everson, and Mrs.

Mr. Carter was an Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Samuel R. King Samuel R.

King, 93, of Carlisle, and former Sioux City resident, died Nov. 10, 1989, in Carlisle. Mr. King resided in Sioux City from 1922 until 1958. He was employed by the Cudahy Packing Co.

as a department superintendent until the plant's closing in 1955. He then operated a neighborhood grocery, until he retired to Carlisle in 1958. Following the death of his first wife, Belle he, married Mary Swain Woods, also Sioux City, who resided with him in Carlisle until her death in 1980. Survivors include two sons, Richard V. King of Chadds Ford, and Robert S.

King of Carlisle; four grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. Services were held at the Burial in the Lower Brandywine Roth Funeral Home in Carlisle. Cemetery in Wilmington, Del. Martin Krommenhoek Martin Krommenhoek, 78, 3210 Park View died Tuesday in the Veteran's hospital in Sioux Falls following a long illness. Services will be at 10 a.m.

Friday at the Third Presbyterian Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. E.D. Pappadackis officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-9 p.m.

He married Vera M. Hough Oct. 11, 1941 in Sioux City. He was self-employed all his life, retiring in 1971. He was a member of the D.A.V.

Post 54. Survivors include his wife; a son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Jeannette Krommenhoek of Hutchinson, two grandchildren, Kristine and Kelleen Krommenhoek; a brother, Albert Krommenhoek of day in Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg with the Rev. He farmed in the Martinsburg area until his retirement in 1979, when they moved to Ponca. Mr. Nobbe was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Martinsburg. Survivors include his wife; three stepsons, two stepdaughters; a sister, Mrs. George (Luella) Mattes of Sioux City; five nieces; two nephews and 20 stepnieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ronald; and two sisters, Etta Mattes and Lois Ebel. Sam Smit SHELDON, Iowa Sam Smit, 80, of Sheldon died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 1989, in a hospital in Orange City. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Hospers Christian Reformed Church with Dr.

Peter Y. DeJong officiating. Burial will be in the Hospers Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Friday with the family present from p.m.

in Vander Ploeg Funeral Home in Sheldon. Mr. Smit was born Feb. 2, 1909, in Hospers. He married Annie Van Bruggen March 17, 1938, in Sheldon.

She died May 28, 1981. He married Margaret Klynsma Oct. 19, 1983, in Hospers. A retired farmer, he moved into Sheldon in 1979. Mr.

Edwin Larsen Edwin Larsen, 88, 2714 Prospect died Tuesday, Nov. 14, 1989, in a Sioux City hospital after a brief ilIness. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in First Lutheran, Church with the Rev.

Robert Vaage, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from p.m. today in Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Mr.

Larsen was born Nov. 18, 1900, in Gjovik, Norway and had been a resident of Sioux City since 1924. He married Anna E. Shogren Oct. 26, 1940, in Sioux City.

He was a machinist for Sioux Tools for 28 years, retiring in 1968. Mr. Larsen was a member of First member of "Sons of Lutheran Church and charter Survivors include his wife, Anna; a son, Leonard of Sioux City; a daughter, June Anderson Reposa ingham, and two brothers, Osvald and Halvar, both of Gjovik, Norway. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Peter and Sigvard; two sisters, Ellen and Louise and his parents. Josephine Rasmussen Josephine Rasmussen, 68, 1027 E.

Nebraska Grand Island, and formerly of Sioux City, died Nov. 5, 1989, of an apparent heart attack. Services were Nov. 8 in St. Leo's Catholic Church with burial in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

She was a beautician in Ida Grove. She married Alfred E. "Gene" Rasmussen in 1941. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1948 where Mr. Rasmussen was employed as city water director.

They moved to Grand Island in 1966. Mrs. Rasmussen was a member of several women's golf leagues. Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Mrs. John (Paula) Chicoine of Parker, S.D., Deanna Rasmussen of Los Angeles, and Mrs.
