Blomgren founded the Portland Bible College In 1967 and served as its vice president until he came to Brandon to found a church and Bible college.

Blomgren said he has "a vision" for a Bible college to be established on the center grounds within two to three years. By CAROL NEEF Tribune Staff Writer BRANDON Dick Iverson, pastor of the Bible Temple in Portland, will speak at dedication ceremonies of the new facilities of Tampa Bay Christian Center Friday at 7:30 p.m. Iverson also is the president of Portland Bible College and the author of a number of published books on various religious subjects. The full gospel non-denominational church was established in July 1983 by Dr. David Blomgren, the present pastor.

The church has about 40 members when it was established. They met at the Brandon Inn (now Ramada Inn East) on State Road 60 for iyt months then relocated to a building in Seffner. The church continued holding services in Seffner until June 14 when it took possession of 29 acres of land and several buildings at 3920 S. Kings Ave. By then the congregation had grown to 250 people.

The facilities include a sanctuary, which can seat 500 people, a fellowship hall and an L-shaped building with eight classrooms. The Tampa Bay Christian School, which opened last year with 27 students, is starting its second year. Iverson Dick Religious Events The cost is $5.50 and a free nursery will be provided. Reservation must be kept, canceled or paid by calling Dorthy at 684-3002 or Ruth at 689-0460. The church services will include Sunday school at 10 a.m.

and worship at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. each Sunday Wednesday evening services are planned at 7:30 p.m. Radio broadcasts are set each Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on WCBF-AM 1010.

Among those expected to perform are Petra, David Meece, Michael W. Smith, David and the Giants and AD. The concert is scheduled to last from 8:30 p.m. until 1 and the Northslde youth are expected to return by 3 a.m. The admission charge Is $13.99 per person.

Elsewhere Group holds program A program on friendship drew a group of 50 participants to the monthly Sunshine Group meeting at the Bethany Baptist Church held recently. Special guests were the Rev. Ernest Barnes and his daughter Lynette of Lakeland, who led and performed several musical hymns. Special guest Jim Hicks brought the devotion on friends. The program also consisted of games and group singing.

Baptist church meetings The church council meeting of the Eastside Baptist Church is planned Wednesday at 8:15 p.m.' at the church'. The nominating committee will meet at 6 p.m. and the weekly workers meeting is set at 7:30 p.m. All teachers and department directors are to meet at 7:30 in the social hall to plan for the 1985-88 year. Wednesday night family suppers are to resume also on Wednesdays.

The dinner is to begin at 5:30 p.m. The church is at 1308 E. Calhoun St. Ruskin Women's guild meets The St. Clement's Women's Guild is to resume regular meetings beginning Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Petersburg. The guest speaker is Christian counselor Mary Glynn Pee-pies. Her topic will be "Women and Stress Management." A group will leave the First Baptist Church of Dover at 7:30 a.m. the day of the seminar. The cost is $12, and each registrant is to receive a book.
