The incident occurred one week after a small fire in the old historical jail area failed to set off the alarms and the building was not completely evacuated. The alarm failure prompted the board of supervisors to order a review of the system and development of an updated evacuation plan. The plan worked well Friday, building superintendent Mark Elgert said. Death ruled natural causes STORM LAKE, Iowa A Storm Lake woman found dead in her home Thursday died of natural causes, police said Friday. Police had originally believed Majorie Gunnerson' death was suspicious. After finding the 73-year-old woman dead on her living room floor, police asked the Division of Criminal Investigation to investigate. Police were originally asked to check on Gunnerson when her son, who lives out of town, told police she had not answered her phone for several days.

When police arrived they found the house locked. When they looked through a window, they saw Gunnerson lying on the floor. They forced entry into the home and found her dead. An autopsy Friday determined Gunnerson died of natural causes. Police Chief Mark Prosser said he did not know the specific cause of death.
