Miss Stella Yowell will be program chairman. Calendar of Events Wednesday, January 17, 1902 District Deaths Mrs. Minnie Baker Services for Mrs. Minnie May Fairview, who died Monday afternoon in Cardwell Memorial Hospital, were held at 2 p.m. this afternoon the Pogue Funeral Home Chapel in Wheaton.

Minerva Ramey JANUARY BRIDE- -Miss Patsy Lavina Lee and James Edwin Oxendine were married at the Granby Methodist Church Friday at 7 p. m. The pastor, Rev. H. Cash Wyble, read the marriage vows.

The wedding, couple was accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Hopper. bride, who is the daughter and Mrs. Lester Lee Granby, wore a white chiffon, street length wedding dress and an eyebrow veil held in place by a crown of white satin bow knots.

Mr. Oxendine is the son of and Mrs. Onal Oxendine of Newtonia and is employed at the Granby Manufacturing Company. Mrs. Oxendine is a senior in Granby High School and tinue her studies until graduation next spring.

The newlyweds at at home in the Will Turkle cottage near the school. Monark Baptist Church Is Scene Of Cantrell-Hopper Wedding, Jan. 12 Miss Norma Cantrell and Craig, W. Hooper, both of Granby, were united in marriage in a candlelighted, double-ring service in the Monark Baptist Church at Monark Springs Friday night, Jan. 12 at 9 p.m.

The Rev. Mark Senter, pastor of the church, officiated at. the altar where lavender chrysanthemums added color in the glow of the candles. D. E.

Cantrell, Rte. 5, father of! the bride, presented his daughter in marriage. She wore an off-. white wool, -length dress. fashioned with a V-neckline and -length sleeves, fastened with tiny pearl button trim.

She wore a small white hat and carried: her bridal bouquet of white carnations on a white Bible. Her: only jewelry was a strand of: white pearls. Miss Josie Todd, Joplin, was maid of honor and wore a red velvet dress with white hat and accessories. Her corsage was of carnations. L.

D. Cantrell, brother of the bride, served as best man. Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Mark Senter played pre-nuptial music and Mrs. L.

D. Cantreil lighted the candles. Mrs. D. E.

Cantrell, mother of the bride, chose a navy dress to wear for her daughter's wedding. Mrs. Ernest Hopper, mother of the groom, wore a beige silk dress. Both mothers wore white carnation corsages. A reception was held following the wedding at the home of the bride's parents where wedding cake and punch were served from the dining table, covered with a white damask cloth and centered with potted chrysanthemums.

Cantrell and other relatives. Mrs. Hopper is in training as a practical nurse at Freeman Hospital in Joplin. Hopper, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Ernest W. Hopper of Granby, graduated from Granby High School last spring and entered Moler Barber College in Kansas City where he recently graduated. ile is employed in Joplin. The couple are making their home in Joplin. Out-of-town guests at the wedding other than those from Neosho and Granby included Mr.

and Mrs. Dick Kline and Mrs. Iva Kline of Noel: Mr. and Mrs. Frank Baker of Diamond.
