of Medical. Education, the grant is earmarked for a project entitled "An Experimental of Primary Health Care in iRural Eastern Carolina." The grant, according to the -announcement, will make possible the training of three Family Nurse Practitioners, whp are registered nurses that win train for assumption and responsibility for specific tasks involved in: well-child and well-adult care; diagnosis and treatment of minor medical problems; the care of minor injuries; Jong-term con- (turning care- of persons with specific chronic diseases; and -recognition and triage. of medical emergencies. Turnage stated, "These funds should be earmarked Jor future expansion in the electrical distribution By using the funds this way, the citizens of Rocky Mount are making an investment in the city's electrical system." The council, working in budget sessions this week, had given indication Monday that a large portion of the money would be applied toward balancing of this year's budget. However, a motion Tuesday afternoon by Coun cilm an-Fred Turnage-ealled for the entire amount of the refund be placed in a SECTION Agreement program. In the first session, 208 students enrolled with 186 -4)eing awarded-certificates. A progress" report showed that the Edwards Junior High School kitchen construction is 99 per, cent complete.

Surplus food service equipment was sold for $1,500. Tuition for out of city pupils will be adjusted on the basis of the cost to city students and announced later. The tuition cost now is $80 year school year for students from Nash and Edgecombe Countiesfattd $160 for students from other counties which do not rebate the city per capita county taxes. Health Fair Is Scheduled This Week Nash-Edgecombeconoinio' Development, in conjunction with the Economic Development Corporation and the United Presbyterian Church are sponsoring a Health Fair throughout Nash and Edgecombe counties this week. The fair is free and open to all whoare interested information on health matters.

A visiting team from Webster, N.Y. has come to Rocky Mount to participate in the fair. The team, organized by tfie Reverend Clyde Mell- inger of the Webster Presbyterian Church, includes a doctor, two dental hygeinist, a nurse and several youth volunteers. So far, the team has led discussions on cancer, drug abuse, mental illness, and has performed dental-skits in the area.
