J. W. Farris has been confined to his home by illness since his return from Jefferson City last Friday. He was threatened with an attack of pneumonia but is now improving and will be able to be out In a few days. The noted evangelist, J.

B. Culpepper, is still attracting great crowds at the Opera House. He will remain over next Sunday, when the revival will close. The meeting has been in progress nearly six weeks. Mrs.

James Kapp orders the Rustic sent to their address at 444 South Alamo street, San Antonio, Texas. She says: "We had to sell our splendid outfit and come to San Antonio by rail from Mt. Vernon, Mo." Ex-Governor J. W. McClurg, of this city, is an applicant for Register of the Land Office at Springfield, Mo.

Our distinguished townsman Is strongly endorsed for the position and many friends, irrespective of party, hope that he will receive the appointment. Burliaus Injured. J. W. Burhans, a prominent citizen and merchant of Stoutland, fell on the sidewalk near his home last Tues day and was painfully injured. Sev eral ribs ware broken and he will be laid up several weeks from the injuries Holiday Foot Ball Game.

A game of foot ball will be played on the grounds near the Hamilton White College, between Springfield and Lebanon teams, on Monday, De cember 27. It will be one of the best attractions of the holiday amusements. PEBSONAL. J. T.

Ho is cook for the bridge gang on the Arkansas Divis ion of the Frisco. Sim Phillips, the Conway lawyer, was in town Monday and called at the Rustic office to leave a subscription for a new subscriber at Conway. Hon. J. T.
