The current fee includes $10 to cover administrative costs of inspecting the property and processing the necessary paper work for a lot clearing.

But a study by county budget officials showed the actual administrative costs are $59 for processing a clearing case. The county's property-maintenance ordinance allows for a lien to be placed against a landowner for actual costs of clearing and an additional penalty equal to that cost. The ordinance enables the county to clear overgrown lots that are determined by inspectors to represent health or safety hazards. Storage Sheds Pcnelized Housing Residential Commercial FLORENCE A.
