A beautiful and novel sight presented itself to thone who were fortunate enough to examine the heavens Thursday night. The air wa3 filled with snow or frost driven from the northwest by the wind; but the moon eould be plainly seen. Theie appeared a series of circles and noon dogs about the moon, arranged, as nearly as I can describe, as follows: First, a bright circle of ordinary ize, while at the eastern and western limits were very bright spots, or moon-dogs, showing the colors of the rainbow. And two others not so bright could be seen, one about three of four degrees west of the north limit, and the other about the same distance west of the south limit, and each about five or six degrees from the outer edge of the circle.

around all of this could be seen a very large but not a very bright circle. A third circle was plainly visible, and this is the strange part of it all. It was very large but not very bright, and it cut the other circles, while the eastern limit passed directly through the moon and through the two moon dogs last described, as shown by the drawing sent the editor. Now, will some of Barry Co'8 Fh. D's give a philosophical explanation of the third circle described above? Vega.
